Used properly, poles (2 of them) can not only take 25%+ of strain off your lower body, but also keep you symmetrical, and help maintain proper posture. Big yes from me.

Greetings, I highly recommend using hiking poles - they were a real help to my knees and added safety on occasional steep rocky downhills. I echo the suggestions to have rubber tips to prevent the click click on hard surfaces. I walked the CF in...

Yes. Rubber tips, please. Few sounds are more annoying on the Camino than the "clack clack clack" of pole tips striking sidewalks or paved surfaces.

Yes! So true. Lovely and bucolic in the beginning... ...and then suddenly... (photo taken in the same spot as yours I think!) Ultimately I was happy I did it, the views were stunning but it was certainly joint challenging and dangerous in...

Last April, I was required to leave my backpack at the reception at the New Monastery. Watch out walking down to Santa Cecilia as it’s slippery rocks. Do not miss the old monastery and if you have a chance, go up to the Monastery of Leyre.

Another option is two nights in Jaca. The bus should be running to and from the town. Check with the tourist office.
