Lots of people say your feet WILL swell. Well, mine don’t. This is a very personal thing. If I went up half a size my shoes would be too big, they would then slop around and give me blisters. Do what works for YOU.
I walked it in July 2019 & struggled to find accommodation at times. I found I had a try to book in advance which isn’t my preferred option. I too like the heat but I wouldn’t try to do it in July again.
Welcome back Alex. I too have missed your posts. And like you my knees are now very dodgy. I will continue to Camino (slowly) and hope to meet you out there one day.
We finished the Camino de Madrid about 3 weeks ago. No problems finding accommodation. We only saw 3 other walking peregrinos in the whole 14 days. Loved it. Make sure to stay with Ray & Rosa at Manzanares & they will give you lots of hints.
Peregrina 2000 can you please give me more information on the pension in Cabornera? This seems ideal for us but I can’t find what it’s called, where it is or contact details. We’re starting the San Salvador in a few days. Thanks, Jacki.
