There have been some dramatic changes to the Senda Litoral as this route becomes more and more popular among pilgrims! The traditional Coastal route has less, but there are always accommodations and eateries that come and go!
Updated in 5/23, the route along the Senda Litoral has changed a bit, following more boardwalks that have opened recently. Our updated information and GPS tracks can be found for free on the Pilgrimage Traveler website, and the eBook Guide can be purchased in downloadable PDF format to use offline on your Camino. This Coastal Route uses the Sendal Litoral when practical and the Coastal Route when no direct seaside route is available nor practical. You can preview the content of the ebook by going to the Pilgrimage Traveler, Camino Portugués website. The ebook contains all the information you need to know, including accommodation, maps from our GPS tracks and must-see sights along the way.
Route changes, accommodations and cafés that have come and gone, more useful resource links and accommodation links, and updated GPS tracks that provide for more alternative routes, especially along the Senda Litoral are all included in this must-have update. Wishing you the most successful Camino! Ultreia! Elle
Despite the pandemic, I have been successful in compiling new information, including confirmation of any changes in the route, permanent closures (sadly) of accommodations and places to eat, historic site additions, and a cleaner, more streamlined look.
