I do the same, only my son can reach me. Normally, that's 22.00/ 7.30 daily. On Camino my phone is on 'do not disturb' 24/7. It doesn't stop me using the phone should I wish to, but it stops the world bugging me.
I spent years travelling where I would be out of contact for weeks, sometimes even...
Indeed.
As usual when you are talking about banks it varies from one to the other. BBVA advertise a minimum fee of 10 cents, whereas Caixa Rural Trust for example advertise no minimum fee.
It does of course also vary on the size of your business. As usual the small businesses pay the most, the...
@sun is shining, if the photos are anything to go by (excellent by the way) you are very well named!
Thank you for all of the effort that you have gone to to write such a comprehensive ( and entertaining) thread for us all!
@RobinNL, that's a tough outcome, but bearing in mind your wife was injured as well....
Hope your wife is better soon, and that the insurance process etc goes smoothly. The best of luck with finding the precious plushie cat.
Hopefully this unfortunate experience will not stop either of you...
@TravellingMan22 , I agree.
Yes Spain, as with many other countries, used to be a cash society - and in some smaller villages it's still very much is. However as we have discussed here numerous times on the forum COVID changed all of that. Or, perhaps more to the point, increased the speed at...
Bearing in mind that the OP doesn't need cash for most accommodation, & only needs cash for the few occasions that they can't use a card I think that'd be excessive. It's only 5 days! On my 2 weeks on the Primitivo in July last year I didn't even manage to spend €200 in cash, and that included...
@clarkandkaren , I'm still researching this ( for next year), so if you would be kind enough to post of your experience - perhaps even just a short summary at the end of your trip - it would be much appreciated.
Bon chemin!
@Varekai , yes I think 200 Euros will be more than sufficient. I walked the Inglés in April last year. I used my card whenever possible, and believe I spent 130 euros in cash. I know I started with 200 and came back with quite a bit (I don't remember exactly because I'm a European resident so...
Easier than the section before Bruma, but there is a big long boring straight piece on a dirt road near (parallel to) the motorway. You could simply book everything until Bruma and then take it from there. 10 k's after Bruma in Ordes/Pouli there's an Albergue, and I think other accommodation nearby.
Mixed views from mixed experiences.
Many have them, but not all. Some have a jug but no microwave. Some Albergues have no kitchen. Some, like the Xuntas's in Galacia have a kitchen but no pots, utensils etc. Some will have everything, including coffee machines.
etc, etc.
