    How much cash to bring?

Indeed. As usual when you are talking about banks it varies from one to the other. BBVA advertise a minimum fee of 10 cents, whereas Caixa Rural Trust for example advertise no minimum fee. It does of course also vary on the size of your business. As usual the small businesses pay the most, the...

Lost & Found Backpack stolen from albergue in León

@RobinNL, that's a tough outcome, but bearing in mind your wife was injured as well.... Hope your wife is better soon, and that the insurance process etc goes smoothly. The best of luck with finding the precious plushie cat. Hopefully this unfortunate experience will not stop either of you...

    How much cash to bring?

@TravellingMan22 , I agree. Yes Spain, as with many other countries, used to be a cash society - and in some smaller villages it's still very much is. However as we have discussed here numerous times on the forum COVID changed all of that. Or, perhaps more to the point, increased the speed at...

    Monte de gozo xunta albergue

There's also a large cafeteria. Great staff, but the food...... Go to the bar!!

    How much cash to bring?

Tapping or swiping your card costs nothing, it's only the ATM withdrawals.

    How much cash to bring?

Bearing in mind that the OP doesn't need cash for most accommodation, & only needs cash for the few occasions that they can't use a card I think that'd be excessive. It's only 5 days! On my 2 weeks on the Primitivo in July last year I didn't even manage to spend €200 in cash, and that included...

One week and I start in Le Puy en Valey

@clarkandkaren , I'm still researching this ( for next year), so if you would be kind enough to post of your experience - perhaps even just a short summary at the end of your trip - it would be much appreciated. Bon chemin!

    How much cash to bring?

@Varekai , yes I think 200 Euros will be more than sufficient. I walked the Inglés in April last year. I used my card whenever possible, and believe I spent 130 euros in cash. I know I started with 200 and came back with quite a bit (I don't remember exactly because I'm a European resident so...

Likelyhood of finding beds in Presedo?

Easier than the section before Bruma, but there is a big long boring straight piece on a dirt road near (parallel to) the motorway. You could simply book everything until Bruma and then take it from there. 10 k's after Bruma in Ordes/Pouli there's an Albergue, and I think other accommodation nearby.

Small juicer, vegetarians and heating element?

Mixed views from mixed experiences. Many have them, but not all. Some have a jug but no microwave. Some Albergues have no kitchen. Some, like the Xuntas's in Galacia have a kitchen but no pots, utensils etc. Some will have everything, including coffee machines. etc, etc.

Likelyhood of finding beds in Presedo?

@magnet77 , whilst I wouldn't say that the walk from Betanzos to Bruma is particularly difficult, many find it tiring, especially if it's a warm day. You've got an excellent suggestion from @CJane above, or you could stay two nights in Betanzos, and simply Taxi to and fro from Presedo...

LIVE from the Camino Current big wave at beginning of Francés

I am going to be interested to see how the rest of the year pans out. 446,035 pilgrims registered last year, extremely likely it will exceed 450,000 pilgrims this year. Will it top 500,000 or just end up somewhere in between? I suspect the latter, but don’t have anything to support that.
