    And I thought it was only me!! I'm doing all of the above too, but can more or less still manage around 24kms sin rucksack. My biggest issue is that its too painful for me to climb those thin rungs on bunkbeds to get to the top bunk. So, I'm avoiding bunkbeds on my September camino (where I can)

    Great choice - I wear the male version and one can have sleeves up or sleeves down. I never wear short sleeves on a summer Camino in case I forget to apply sun tan lotion. I've seen too many "lobsters" walking!

    I've done it in the rain too. I agree with the comments above. If you are steady on your feet you will be fine. BTW - Its a fantastic stop if you manage to get accommodation - Enjoy

    Also, depending on the Camino, it’s not always possible to do “short” stages. The stage distance “is what it is”. Personally 20-24kms suits me best but can do more if its necessary

    I watched the first episode last night. It was interesting to see how any preconceptions about the "walk" quickly disappeared. Its great to see them opening up to each other and I liked hearing their opinions. Not unlike an albergue conversation........

    backpacks in Monbus (Santiago to Sarria)

    When we have to put our rucksacks underneath I have a small chain and padlock that use to secure them to the luggage structure. Easy to put on, easy to remove. It's the same one I use for securing our footwear in albergues.

    Well, for me the best bit was the first two weeks, but in my opinion, it was also the hardest section. After that, it was still hard, just not as hard. There are an awful lot of up and downs on the Norte. So, in a nutshell, if you want a less challenging section, it's not the first two weeks...

    We walked the Norte the same period last year and did not have a problem booking individual nights. The Norte can be busy with Spanish tourists, especially at the weekend when prices are raised.

    Underarmour - They hold you in place, don't chafe, don't ride up into your nether regions and they also dry very quickly
