Adding to the chorus for at least a sleeping bag liner. I stayed in private rooms in albergues that provide bedding but some places looked kinda sketchy so I slept in my liner on top. They are lightweight and don’t take up a lot of room, so worth it!
I traveled with my full-size ResMed (I think it’s series 11?), with water tank and hose and mask and cable and and and… over 6 pounds total.
I put it all (except the mask, because it didn’t fit) in a soft side camera case, then packed it in my small hard-side carryon suitcase. I wrote FRÁGIL...

Last May I wore Topo Mountain Racer trail runners, and I took a pair of lightweight (plastic) Birkenstocks for evenings. There was only one or two days where my ankles were unhappy; yes, I used hiking poles. Also, I did “half stages”, slow walking and lots of attention-deficit stops to check out...
Hi friend from the Great White North! I did Sarria to Santiago last May-June and it was lovely. I did reserve a couple nights ahead and yes, there were lots of people. But there were also long stretches where it was just me. Don’t let folks here scare you. If you need solitude, you will find it...
