    Stage 28

If I remember, stage 28 is approximatively between stage 27 and stage 29. But I am not sure, it has been a long time since I was there.

    Accommodation Inquiry

Regarding language, @Peterexpatkiwi is right: try to write your email in French. If you want, give me some telephone numbers and what I should ask then I will call for you. Gronze should be convenient in order to give you the current list of albergues. The problem of June regarding the beginning...

    Pilgrimage - selfish?

Maybe we should learn and remember this sentence of Jean-Christophe Rufin (a french writer) in "Immortelle Randonnée": "On leaving for Santiago de Compostela, I wasn't looking for anything and I found it"

Pilgrim office website - security warning?

Web certificates (TSL certificates) make a profitable business: they should be renewed from time to time. When the expiration date of a Web server has been reached, you receive such a warning. When no money is involved, do not worry about it.

    Pilgrimage - selfish?

That is the magical of the Camino: we meet other people who do not have anything common with us, but we often become friends because first the basic questions arise. Where to sleep ? What to eat ? How to cure this pain ? For me, pilgrimage began as a selfish project but quickly become another...

LIVE from the Camino Current big wave at beginning of Francés

In the Old Days, lords and ladies slept secure at home, in their own beds, while paid pilgrims were walking for them. Indeed, here is my announcement: I am ready to walk on behalf of anybody, for a reasonable amount of money (and a provision of pimientos de Padrón).

LIVE from the Camino Current big wave at beginning of Francés

At least, that raises a question about the business around the Camino, in my opinion....

    The Shell Toucher hat

If your skin should be carefully protected from the sun, perhaps you should prefer a better covering hat, like this one: https://www.ouku.com/fr/p/chapeau-senwai-sun-a-large-bord-pour-homme-protection-solaire-upf-50-chapeau-avec-rabat-de-cou-pour-peche-randonnee-gris-fonce_p9424125.html

Two pilgrims injured in an attack by a cow

Yes, but on the Aubrac, they are particularly used to pilgrims and hiker. My guess is that cows (and namely bulls) which are not used to human beings can be dangerous. I heard that the "toros bravos" used for corridas grow far away from any human being...

    Pilgrim passport for Camino Finisterre

Notice that you can get a specific credential for Fisterra/Muxia, e.g. in Seminario Menor. It is nice because it has drawings of main monuments to see on this Camino:

    Route planning- Help!

With this planner, you could know the distances between points: https://godesalco.com/plan/frances I suggest than Burgos, León, Astorga... should not be missed. Therefore, if you want to reach Santiago, Burgos could be a good starting point: 500 km to walk, ie 20 days for a reasonably good...

Nearly everywhere: https://euroweeklynews.com/2019/08/23/ask-for-angela/ (except where a barmaid is called Angela)

If there are too many pilgrims, what is a pilgrim to do?

The main idea was in this time that when the saint soul were in Paradise, the remnant of his body on earth could be a benefit for those who visit its sepulcher. But now ? Who actually believe that the bones of a saint could bring a benefit to those who come to them ? The paradox is that the...

    Confused over date format

There are 2 convenient ways to express a date: - DD-MM-YYYY, mainly used for human beings. - YYYY-MM-DD, more oriented to business processing. If you find somebody, in Europe, who expresses a date according to MM-DD-YYYY, it should be an american guy !

Transit to Bordeaux from Canada, and a note about the St. André Cathedral in Bordeaux

Yes they would, provided that you find some people to stamp your credential.

    Miam miam dodo necessary?

Some anecdotes and nice-to-know facts about the Chemin, but nothing critical. I bring it for my first part of the Camino, but not now.

LIVE from the Camino SJPdP “Completo” tonight!

You are forgetting one important factor, @Cliff175: the advertising we are doing about the Camino. For a part, we are responsible of overcrowding. However, could we prevent others to get the same pleasure we have walking on the Camino ? NB: The Botafumeiro has not swung for months cf article...
