There are many buses a day from Santiago to Ferrol. The company is Monbus. It takes only about one and a half hour. And then it took me seven days to walk back to Santiago😜
I have walked many times and I have slept in all kinds of albergues, but now I want a bit more comfort, so I like to sleep in pensiones and hotels.:-) And since I am not young anymore I like to know that I have a bed. So I have booked all places before I left. You don't have the complete freedom...
I usually try booking.com first, but when they say it is full I contact the hotel directly, and voila, there is a room! Booking.com does not dispose all rooms, I think. Try mailing the hotel.
I have stayed in Hotel Palacete. A modern and ok hotel. The first time we stayed there the breakfast was miserable so later I have eaten in a bar near by. But later I met two Germans who had stayed there and had got a very good breakfast..
People also recommend Hotel Garelos, but I don't know...
I really enjoy walking Camino Ingles. This Camino is not too hard, I think that after the latest changes there's only one real challenge, that is walking out of Pontedeume. A rather steep but short walk up the hill. And when you come to the top turn around and enjoy the view:-)
Johnnie Walker...
So true! Some years ago I was walking in France together with my husband and two friends. One day we met a young girl who was on her way to Santiago, walking alone, and she had started from her home in Berlin, Germany. She had been ill and had stayed with some nuns for several weeks. When we...
Thank you! After a journey I always love coming home again but I am thinking of the Camino every day:-) Would I do it again? I thought this should be my last Camino, but I am already thinking about next year...
It is nearly two weeks since I came home after having walked Camino Ingles, alone. Last year when I thought about walking alone I was very much afraid that I would be lonely since I am a rather introvert person. But now I have done it and I was not lonely! I was alone but not lonely. I chose to...
I finally fought back my fear and anxiety of walking alone:-) So now I have had my first day walking Camino Ingles, staying in Neda for the night. Nice weather and all is well. Thank you all for support! Now I am going to celebrate my birthday with a good dinner
Now I have finished the planning for my Camino Ingles, starting in exactly one month. In fact on my 75th birthday... Tickets are bought, reservations made, but the hardest part is left: to fight my fear and anxiety...
Thank you! I have read your account and it was very helpful. But I know I can't walk 29 km so I have to split that distance up. I am not quite sure about 24 km either...So I have to start the more detailed planning, September is soon here:-))
Thank you! Yes, I feel more comfortable by choosing a Camino I know. I don't know if I would have dared to take new one...To me it's also a way to find out if I can manage alone. I have walked many times before but always with friends.
I am aware of the upcoming changes and will try to find out...
Today I have booked air plane tickets to Madrid, train ticket to Santiago and a room at HS Martin Pinario. Then I will take the bus to Ferrol and start walking Camino Ingles for the third time. But this time I will walk alone, for the first time. I am excited and scared!
