Have an amazing time! We did this same route in May along the coast and into Spain four years ago with our two sons ages 11 and 14 years at the time. It was magical, challenging, memorable and such a blessing. A time we will never forget. Enjoy!!!
Kiwi-family, such a different experience for you right now then you had expected. Your family is so blessed to have your care of them. May your Camino sabbatical become a reality very soon.
NYCwalking said it beautifully...Blessings and peace and strength to you.

Michael, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your wife. My hope is that you can make your journey in memory of her very soon.
Yes, so much loss for so many in so many different ways. It's so good when our compassion and kindness reaches out to everyone in each situation, therefore helping to...
It was two years ago yesterday that my family of four--husband, two sons, and myself--left for Spain to journey a portion of the Camino. We'd planned and anticipated this for years. We were blessed with two weeks of mind and soul searching, deep family connecting, physically challenging our...

Hi Cristian,
How wonderful!!! ENJOY your Camino!
My family of four did a portion of the Camino Portuguese from late May into early June 2018 and crossed over into Spain in Tui. I love what others have contributed! Here are a few things that worked for us.
1.My boys,12 and 15, BOTH preferred...
Maybe I missed it, but did you say where you teach this class?! I think the class sounds lovely. To me, it brings to light the fact that so many of us are seeking to hear other’s stories, to gain a deeper connection. Such goodness!
My word is—
Deepening
(and Connection, to myself and my family) ❤
B, I appreciate so much your pointing this out in such a gentle, thoughtful way. It is a wonderful reminder that we all speak and we all hear from our own filters, our past and our history. For me, learning to understand that has allowed me so much more grace with myself and with others.
I...
Kiernan, I have been offline for sometime. I apologize for the delay in responding to your post!
Thank you for taking the time to write. I love that you never gave up on your quest! And I love that you are going back again, and again, and again...
Safe travels as you continue your journey...
Thank you Anamya, what a wonderful visual of a young child hearing the story of walking the Camino and then following through with that and I love that you didn't care what others thought. So powerful!
I appreciate, so much, your thoughts and suggestions!
Warm regards,
Heather
Roland49, I am honored that you have shared your reasons for walking the Camino with me. So much loss, I'm so very sorry. My sincerest, wholehearted sympathies for your losses and what a lovely way to honor them. I hope that you found grace and peace along your journey.
Warm regards,
Heather
Dearest Rick, thank you for sharing your reason for walking the Camino with me. I'm so very sorry and my deepest and heartfelt sympathies for the loss of your daughter. What a beautiful way to honor her.
Warm regards,

Thank you so much for your thoughts, TaijiPilgrim! Yes, my thought was to include it at the end as an Author's Note like you mentioned. I think it would be too much to add it to the story for younger kiddos but a nice addition for older kids. I remember my boys always wanting to skip that part...
Hello all,
I was debating whether to post this here or in, "frequently asked questions", since I'm asking a question so forgive me if I've misplaced this post.
I'm writing a story based on my son's losing, and then having returned to him months later, his favorite stuffed animal along the...
Hello all,
We finished our Camino having started in Porto! What an experience.
Thank you for your input, thoughts, blessings and mostly grace on this forum. I’ve read some posts by some disgruntled and/or disillusioned pilgrims lately and more often than not, the responses are sent with love...
