I plan on walking from rates on the central route to esposende on the Costa route, this is shown in the Brierly guide, only by a dotted line, but no details are given. Has anyone walked this route, is it well signed, and are there shops or cafes en route?
I walked the Camino Madrid last year, there are no shops or bars between main towns, so it is essential to carry some food and water when setting out each day.
Now in Leon after walking from Segovia to Sahagun. The Camino France's is quite a shock to the system after the quiet of the Madrid route. In Sahagun was the first time I had to share the albergue with other. All the Albergue on the Madrid I had completely to myself and my own key. I was only...
I arrive in Madrid on 3rd September, then doing a few days as a tourist, then arriving in Santa Maria la real on 6th September, start walking from there the next day.
I had one of these 6.00am flights 2 years ago. I got the last airport bus about 11pm the night before planning to sleep on a bench at the airport. I found a bench and managed to nod off, all the lights get dimmed about midnight. I awoke about 4.00am, and was astonished to see people sleeping on...
I walked the Costa last year and saw lots of lovely beaches where you could swim, many of them you do not need a swimsuit as there are many nudist beaches
I have walked 3 week sections of the Camino 4 times, i am 68 years old. The first time i stayed in municipal alburgues but never will again. I so like staying in the private alburgues because i meet so many interesting people, some of whom have become friends for life. I always stay in a hotel...
As you are from the UK I suggest that just a small Union Jack stitched to your rucksack will be enough to make you stand out. I have done the Camino three times and rarely see another English person. Also by the way from my experience your rucksacks are far too big, 35l is more than big enough...
Hi just seen this message from last year. Did you manage to find this route? I am planning to do padron to negreira in September. I have found a route on Google maps but any help would be appreciated
keep you backpack as light as possible is my best advice. Last year when I was buying stuff it got weighed at home and a lot of stuff got taken back to the shop for a refund if it was too heavy. I found that a 35 Ltd pack was plenty big enough. The total weight I carried including water was only...
