    Bike

Sorry but a pedal assisted bike will not disqualify you as long as you do a minimum of 200k.

    Hiking Sandals on the Camino

It depends on the time of year you are walking, early spring and winter I would recommend boots or walking shoes, summer and early autumn walking sandals or runners.

    Camino fatigue?

Health reasons kept me from doing repeat caminos so the addiction faded, I still hiked in France and Spain but on my own terms and became a fair weather hiker. After seeing the conga lines on the Frances over the last few years I'd be slow to do another one.

Travel to Saint Jean from Barcelona

There is a bus service that runs between Pamplona and SJPDP or a shared taxi. The bus leaves at 12.00 every day as far as I know.

I may have broken my leg! Pls help in Pontevedra!!!

It's not a two tier system, if you need help you will get it whether you are a tourist or a local.

Not any bookshop in my neck of the woods.

Is 5 days in Finisterre a bad idea?

Probably because Finisterre has a beach it had many stores selling tat, it is after all a seaside town. Muxia has several great restaurants down by the dock/marina, not sure about grocery shopping as it was our last few days we ate out and relaxed. Also some lovely walks in the area if you get...

Is 5 days in Finisterre a bad idea?

If I had the choice I would rather spend those rest days in Muxia, a much nicer town IMO. I found Finisterre too commercialized.

    Be careful with phones.

It's really not much different than having your wallet stolen, cards, cash, ID and anything else in there. Be vigilant with both especially in cities that have a bad reputation like Barcelona and Madrid but it can happen anywhere.

Surprised at our test results poncho vs jacket

Or on the Camino in April. 😁

    Pork in Spain

As someone who has spent time talking to God on the big white telephone I like my pork well done, if I got it pink it would be going back.

Surprised at our test results poncho vs jacket

A rain jacket is useless without rain pants, exactly what happened to you happens if you don't wear the combination. I have worn ponchos over the years but have come to hate them especially in windy weather. The only decent poncho is the Altus...and that's really a long rain coat.

Pacemaker Implant Surgery Tomorrow. A New Phase for Future Caminos.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Dave. You will be able to walk further and faster now with your new engine hardware. Stay well.

    Niggling hates (dislikes) on Camino

When I travel abroad I try not to compare everything with home, it's a recipe for disaster. If you are going to do that.. better to stay at home.

How light was your backpack for Camino Frances (800 km)

This is how pilgrims go. 😁

How light was your backpack for Camino Frances (800 km)

My pack weighed 10 kilos and I didn't use a baggage service. I know some people have to. This business of how light can I go seems to me to be a race to the bottom, why not just go Reacher on it and just bring a toothbrush in your pocket, forget about getting into trouble with weather conditions...

    Bed bugs in books!

This is the worst case of bedbugs I have encountered. Worse than that are bed buffaloes which I encountered in an albergue which I shall not name.

    Drones

Don't you just hate it when others try to enjoy their Camino as well. 🙄

Memorial Garden for Denise Thiem near Astorga

It was thanks to @Rebekah Scott and donations from members here that this memorial garden is a reality. It might not be a bad idea for those who wish to donate to it's upkeep to donate through Reb's website.
