Hi we are still walking together at the moment. We took the road most of the way from Monasterio De Zenarruzza to the Albergue Eskerika about 8k before Goikolexea today . Just expect mud! Lots and lots of mud!!
Hi Fiona. I will be 24hrs ahead if you. I arrive in Irun on 27th and will set off on the 28th so there's a good chance our paths might cross along the way. I have the forum badge sewn onto my back pack so keep a look out.
Trish .
My pack weighs 5k at the moment but it will probably be about 7 _7.5 when all the last minute things are in there. Really don't want to go over 7.5 if i can help it will.
Less than two weeks to go until I start my second Camino. This time its the Norte last year was the Frances. Fly out on 27th May to start on 28th from Irun. Ive weighed and packed, unpacked, re weighed , swapped items for lighter ones and repacked again. Got my euros , train and flight tickets ...
Hi .im walking the Norte route flying front London Standstead to biarritz on 27th May and setting off on 28th from Irun . Walked the Frances last May and now i am totally hooked. Enjoy and who knows i May even see u along the way.
I agree with a previous reply. I think you have been wearing the wrong size boot. I learned through running marathon and losing toe nails several times that i had been wearing running shoes a size and a half too small. Although they felt comfortable at first i didn't realise how much ur feet...
Thanks Tom / Falcon. Don't know why im worrying . I managed to make it from SJPDP to SdC all on my own last year. Half the fun was overcoming obstacles such as this. Nervous excitement i guess. :D
Tom i have looked into the train service and there seem to be 2 options. 1) BIARRITZ to HENDAYE les 2 Jumeaux . 1st leg bus service and
2) BIARRITZ to HENDAYE 1st leg bus service.
Im confused
I've decided that i will fly to Biarritz because its less hassle. All i have to do now is figure out how to get from the airport to Irun .So if anyone has any ideas or have done this recently i would welcome any advice . Like is there a bus that runs direct or should i walk from hendaye etc.
Hi Ian.
I got the Email too but i guessed it was a scam so i deleted it. Im sure nobody would part with that kind of money without checking with u first.
Trish x
I've earmarked that one but i thought if i could get from UK to Irun in same day i could leave earlier the following day after spending the night in irun . Got a while yet before i can book so got plenty of time to find out. Thanks.
Trish
Apparently there is a train that leaves from paris twice a day that takes 6hrs to get to irun. Has anyone used this service and knows roughly what time it arrives in Irun. There is currently no timetable to look at.
Hi fellow pilgrims. I plan on commencing my second camino in june. I shall travel by overnight train from paris and should arrive in Irun at about 9am . Do you think I will have enough time to walk to san sebastion the same day and still arrive at a reasonable hour?
