Buen Camino by Peter Murtagh and his 18 year old daughter Natasha would be a good read. They walked the Camino together and you can get both their perspectives.
Yes, less fumbling about with a sleeping bag. Hope you have a wonderful Camino. Lots of trial and error but then you find out what works best for you. It's all part of the fun too. ☘
I only had a liner and was sorry I didnt have a light sleeping bag as I found the liners awkard to get in and out of. Maybe if it had a zip but mine didn't. The sleeping bag can become a blanket when needed and in my opinion is more versatile. And it gives better cushioning on the plastic bed...
On my Camino last year I arrived in Santiago Sept 25th along with 641 other pilgrims. I checked up on the official figures for the same day this year and 885 arrived. I expected the figures to be much higher as in pre pandemic years.
I pray for his family at this difficult time. May he rest in peace and find many beautiful Camino's to walk in his heavenly home. A reminder for me to live each day to the full and give thanks for the gift of life and the pilgrims God has given me.
Fr Manny, a most lovely man, he took us all out for coffee after Mass in Nov this year and I was very blessed hearing all his stories.

Well done Tom and I know it will be an amazing adventure and you will be blessed in so many ways. I am just 2 weeks back from my first camino and when I wake in the mornings I am still out there walking somewhere. So you wont just be dreaming pre Camino but also post Camino.
Sorry to hear this and not sure I can offer any good advice at this stage. Can you not put them inside your backpacks if you are checking them in? I decided in advance to check in my backpack with poles and bought an airporter bag to put everything in as I was getting a Ryan Air flight from...
Thanks for all your helpful replies. I took your advice Antonius and just back from the hospital, waited an hour which was reasonable and the staff were so helpful. They cleaned and dressed the blisters and the nurses gave me extra bandages to take away as well. I took taxis rather than trying...
Thank you so much. Because I live in a more remote country I could only buy my Camino kit in a short space of time before leaving and never read the instructions properly. I was learning how to use it once I arrived in Spain. Not very clever but so glad I posted this on the Forum and got all...
