    Camino Verde from Primitivo ..

I’m not even sure - maybe it’s just the stark contrast between the quiet Invierno / San Salvador and now the very busy Primitivo. There’s a party atmosphere here that I’m not getting along with (definitely a me problem). So I thought the Verde might be a nice escape but given the constant rain...

And this here is a very nice place for churros and porras.

    León Restaurant Recommendations

Verdelima! They have fantastic food with a bit of a healthy spin for very reasonable prices. Try the hierba buena lemonade, it’s really good.

    Salvadorana, Saturday/sunday

Currently the cathedral is issuing the Salvadoriana (incl entrance to the cathedral and the Camera Santa) for free. Go during opening hours.

    Camino Verde from Primitivo ..

@Peterexpatkiwi - just to check, if we take the Verde it would be Lugo - Friol - Sobradelo - Santiago? I’m having limited internet and cannot check your YT videos atm. I'm struggling a lot on the Primitivo and the Verde might be a good option to get away from here for a couple of days.

Camino invierno two stamps per day

This is just anecdotal but I’ve finished the Camino Invierno a couple of weeks ago and only rarely got two stamps a day (because there wasn’t always much opportunity, bars closed etc). Had no problems whatsoever at the pilgrim office.

LIVE from the Camino K's San Salvador 24

The walk into Mieres is not the most inspiring (mostly on asphalt) but it’s short enough. Important!! Avoid the alternative that takes you to the right through the forest (the blue trail in Buen Camino) - it includes a super steep and slippery descent.

LIVE from the Camino K's San Salvador 24

Just as a reference for future Salvador pilgrims. Our experience in Poladura (one week earlier) was completely different. Hot water, lots of blankets, electricity working fine, super well equipped kitchen and absolutely lovely hospitality. It’s certainly an older albergue but let’s not forget...

    1. Sort food for tomorrow in Poladura de la Tercia (see WhatsApp number for the Posada in the post above). Write, don’t call, that you will arrive tomorrow, stay at the albergue and want food (specify if you want lunch and / or dinner) 2. Albergue in Poladura de la Tercia. No need to contact...

My strong advice is to stop calling people. Not many will speak English but everyone can use a translator app on their phone if you *write* them on WhatsApp. I’ll post below all the numbers you’ll need for the next few days plus when to message them.

+34 659 030 282 This is the number for the Posada in Poladura. WhatsApp works. You need to let them know asap if you want food tomorrow. If they do not reply by one hour before shops close you need to buy supplies in Pola de Gordon. There are two supermarkets that should be open until 9pm...

@KariannNor - we stayed in Pola de Gordon too and had the best burgers in a whole month in Spain at the corner restaurant. Try the patatas bravas / alioli combo, fantastic to get your spirits back up. You made a wise choice. We walked von Pola to Poladura in rain and it was no fun (plus we...

Hey, here’s just a quick overview over the variant (not much internet atm). After Llanos you leave town following the road for a few hundred meters. Once through the big bend you’ll see a trail leaving the road to your left (there are signs, see pics). At first the trail goes straight through...
