Ryanair stopping service to Bordeaux in November

Ryanair have announced that after November they will no longer be flying to/from Bordeaux. Unfortunate for those heading for SJPDP as it is a useful alternative to Biarritz. https://travelweekly.co.uk/news/air/ryanair-to-exit-french-airport

Airport buses - changes to services

Some news that was posted on Facebook by Johnnie Walker which I'm sure he won't mind my repeating here. Not sure who his informant was. The post was quite long but I'll just repost it here in full. "Hi John! Important news about the bus connections between the airport and the city that will...

I am taking the international Trencelta north from Porto tomorrow. Timetable links here: https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en/how-to-travel/celta-train

    Question about Alsa bus tickets

On the desktop version of the ALSA website there is a drop-down menu for documents which allows you to choose "other document". I would use that. Buses can and do fill up at times and as there is only one bus per day on that route getting stuck in Pamplona would be a pain in the posterior.

getting to St Jean Pied de Port from Biarritz

If you are finding the SNCF site difficult then try a third-party search engine. I find thetrainline.com is fairly reliable and easy to use. .

    Bus from Sarria

You must take two buses. 18:45 from the airport to Lugo. Then 20:35 from Lugo to Sarria arriving at 21:05. There is no direct bus from the airport to Sarria at that time of day. https://www.monbus.es/en#seleccion

There is also a bus stop on the main road below the Mercado de Abastos. Opposite side of the road just outside a school. Closer to the historic centre.

    Advice on starting in Roncesvalles

Probably best to take the train to SJPDP. From there you can take one bus per day to Roncesvalles - run by ALSA and leaves at 13:45. Or you can book a ride with Express Bourricot. https://www.alsa.com/en/web/bus/home https://www.expressbourricot.com/passengers-transport/

How to get to SJPP from Biarritz?

Bus from the airport to Bayonne station. 1.20 euro - pay the driver. Then SNCF train to SJPDP - tickets from vending machines in the station.

How to pay for bus within Santiago?

I saw a Facebook post recently from someone who had run out of cash about 3 days walk from the nearest ATM on the Via de la Plata. So used to card payments that they just didn't think to keep a reserve of cash on hand. Worth remembering that there are still places in rural Spain which do not...

How to pay for bus within Santiago?

Not sure about cards but there is a flat fare of €1. I just handed over a coin the last time I took a bus to the airport.

    Santiago to Bilbao

Vueling and Iberia do direct flights from Santiago to Bilbao. Probably the fastest option. ALSA run direct buses which will be slower but might be cheaper - that depends on the date and time.

Pamplona to St Jean Pied de Port

They offer a service to Pamplona so it seems reasonable that they would go the other direction too.

Bus from 'where' in A Coruna to A Coruna airport ?

If you look on Google Maps there is a Repsol gasolinera on a major road between the railway station and the bus station. There is a bus stop beside the gasolinera. The road itself is quite low down compared to the railway station. and accessed by a pedestrian walkway. Buses for the airport leave...

Transport along the Camino St James Route

No - many of the smaller villages have little or no bus service. Bus services along the Camino Frances are very patchy.
