Think about everything or think about nothing, it makes a nice change from the drudgery of day to day life.
Enjoy the journey, may find you head back each year to recalibrate the mind on what is really important in life.
Day to day life(work, TV, mortgages, consumerism, bills, etc) for most is one of drudgery......the Camino provides an escape from the drudgery where you can think about everything or absolutely nothing on a historical/spiritual path while interacting with humans in their mostly natural...
Bring it along with you........music is international, adds to the mood and would be welcomed by many Pilgrims relaxing after a days walk.
Just no Taylor Swift, James Blunt or Ed Sherrin........more Leonard Cohen, Roy Orbison, Warren Zevon, etc
Last time I ordered euros from CBA they came in a mixture, maximum was 100 and lowest was 5. Can order them online and nominate the branch to be picked up at, by memory I ordered 2500 euro.

Go for it, jumping off the hamster wheel that most people are on in their daily lives and experiencing something totally different is good for the soul. Just be flexible, Spain is different to where you call home currently.

As I understand it only the Municipal albergues are one night only but some private ones may also have the same rule, more experienced pilgrims will know for sure. Taking it slower and walking less distances per day sounds very appealing.
Make the decision when you arrive at Santiago, you can be anywhere in that part of the world in a few hours. You may find the journey changes your mindset along the Way from what it is before you start, sometimes the unplanned turns out amazing.
