Sorry but IMHO and as many folks said - definitely an overkill. Other options are available, as been suggested, so please give a consideration
On top of everything else IMHO that plastic bin may also attract unwanted attention. then you have to deal with it on arrival (to wherever you are flying...
Hello and thank you
3 days ago 2 of my friends had to hoof it up from SJ all the way to Espinal (via Napoleon Route) as absolutely every single bed in-between was taken.
I don't mean to sound flippy and I guess we all appreciate the good intentions but ... there cannot be any 'reassurances'...
If it is seems to be too challenging to go Napoleon Route then look into Valcarlos.
One way or another, if the weather cooperates start early and just take it slow with plenty of rest stops. You now have a bed in Roncesvalles so you don't have to race
Enough to take couple of hours.
Distance wise.... I think about 3km... Don't recall for sure
My friends decided to skip it today. Apparently the lady had a nasty fall when we walked in 22 so today with its being wet and muddy they chose to take a taxi
Hello @PilgrimRoberto
Usually the general advice is to book as far as Pamplona but you might wish to go farther given latest developments.
As far as donations go we are of the mind that a donativo should reasonably equal any private accommodation; so say roughly €15 for a bunk and another...
By All means - the advice to get it at MundiCamino is the best option. I merely put the info forth about Decathlon transportation so folks do know there is an option to not hoof it up just in case they might want to get something (else) from it
when life serves you lemons - learn to make Lemon cerveza and sell it to the Pilgrims 🤣
seriously - i've mentioned this numerous times as of late with all these "no beds" threads. If anything we - the US folks - spend so much $$$ getting to Camino if you are faced with the situation of no beds...
Just FYI - re: Decatlon. There is a free bus that is going there from the plaza next to El Cid
goes every 30 mins and it IS absolutely free both directions

Like my Mom said when I told her I am off on a Pilgrimage in Spain - "You Will Suffer!"
I honestly do n ot know how badly it eroded since 2019 but in 2022 it was no picnic either...
Good Luck to All the Pilgrims who currently approaching that stretch. Be vigilant, be careful, take your time...
This is not the first time the subject is brought up. Whether we all like it or not - there is a so-called geay area and there is no "proper" solution.
I snore and yes the first thing I've done is told folks (esp. those in bunks close to mine) that I do snore. But on a larger sense - so what? So...
I'm sorry but that proved to be the first thing that 'fails'.
Not all places work with Booking.com and not all places that do - release ALL the beds to them
I believe you need to present a Finisterre\Muxia credential with applicable sellos (just like the ones for going to SdC) for that.
IIRC if you do both (F & M) you MUST show that you stopped at Lires.
Buen Camino
I enjoy your enthusiasm but keep in mind that you WILL be surrounded by "other humans". Just in a very slight chance that you are not aware - they are quite unpredictable. So, be mindful
Some folks here probably lost count of how many times they walked "their 4th Camino". I know someone who did...
One thing that Camino taught me was to forgo the websites and call the places direct!
As I said in on of another threads on the subject - try EVERYTHING - hotels, motels AirB&Bs and everything in between
I ma glad your problem got solved
