Up to you! For me I always hike with them, because if you use them right they set up your whole body for strong, efficient action and have relatively little to do with balance and all those things. But you have to use them right to get the benefit. I have seen some pretty comical things on...
Well, if you get chastised then so should I!! I so totally agree with you! I see this stuff that you mention above and want to give up looking at the forum. But haven’t. Come on people and get a life and get on with it!
I think a first night in Beilari is the best way imaginable to start a camino. I will never ever forget it! It does get booked up real quickly, so reservations are best
I highly recommend Beilari. An amazing experience to begin the Camino and more than one day is definitely possible. They start taking reservations sometime after the holidays for the coming season.
Really, really resounds with me. That is so much my experience, too, in walking the two caminos I have walked. First one at 74 then76 and am determined again to walk after my 80th in a few months. thanks for posting.
I am a long time volunteer at Beilari and know that Joseph there does not begin making reservations for the new season usually in January. so you are fine! Don’t miss the Beilari experience. It is truly unique. there is also a facebook page!
i personally would always reserve in Saint Jean and Roncesvalles. Reserving gives you the opportunity to experience the albergue Beilari in Saint jean. Highly recommended.
Too bad you didn’t book at the albergue Beilari. They serve all vegetarian meals. Sometimes it is possible to reserve for dinner without staying there. check into it at www.Beilari.info
Yes, i will never forget my night at St Nicholas. The ceremony of feet washing, the dinner by candle light, watching a huge starry sky with the Italian hospitaleros, waking with candle light before dawn.
Thanks!! My new volunteer activity! But really fun being in contact with people from all over the world who have experienced a night in Beilari and others anticipating it. Kind of a blast!
