Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

If you can't get a place at either Borda or Orisson you can book two nights in SJPdP and use Express Bourricot's Mountain Shuttle, which must be booked in advance. https://www.expressbourricot.com/passengers-transport/

Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

Definitely not too early for either. You should also look at Auberge Borda instead of Orisson. I haven't had a chance to stay there, but it looks nicer than Orisson. https://www.aubergeborda.com/

    Feeling alone and anxious

I read a thread on a Camino Facebook group, and people seemed surprised that they needed to bring bedding! I don't know where they are getting their information from. Actually I do - from FB groups, and not from this forum!

    Zubiri hazardous path

I don't remember it being an issue in 2016, 2017, or 2019. Definitely much worse in 2023.

Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

I stayed there on my first Camino in 2016. My criteria at the time was an albergue with a dryer since bedbugs were found in my room in Astorga.

Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

One more thing. Gronze is only in Spanish, but if you use the Chrome browser it will automatically translate to English. I also recommend using the Wise Pilgrim app. https://wisepilgrim.com/

Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

In Rabanal the public so albergue is closed, Refugio Gaucelmo has 36 beds and does not accept reservations. You will find it and other places here: https://www.gronze.com/castilla-y-leon/leon/rabanal-camino#albergues

Help with accommodation on Camino Francés

That's true of most public and parochial albergues, but most private albergues can be reserved. Also booking.com does not have access to all beds or rooms. The properties only release part of their inventory to the booking sites. Use Gronze to find contact information and contact the...

Camino Frances in September - experiences

If you don't mind hotter weather, starting in August is less busy than waiting until the beginning of September. I started my first Camino on August 21, and never had a problem getting a bed. That was 8 years ago, but I believe that August is still much less busy than the first two weeks of...
