In 2022 couple of times that I venture into pharmacy without one they simply gave me one....
Note: not to discourage anyone from packing one or few if so desired
To some extend for simple comparison - I treat COVID like a flu. Its there, it will ALWAYS be there and if it is something you worry about please take all the precautions you feel necessary.
Even that said nobody can guarantee 'safety' 100% (just like in case of the flu)
Wholeheartedly agree...
Although I am with @trecile on this one (better safe than sorry and the weight is negligible) when I walked my Camino May-June not once did the topic and\or need for showing papers came up.
As other noticed - restrictions are lifted.
@C clearly
Within reason that is what I meant
I don't think the first booster falls into the 270 days limit although by now it it's probably quite close
Not to discourage anyone - by all means do what is required - but when i landed in Barcelona last year short of simply scanning my QR code and saying Welcome to Spain nobody checked anything else. You could've said 5F on the form and actually sit in 33B don't think anyone would've known.....
Yep did one when we flew to Barcelona in August of 2021 so chances are will just pull that up an update with pertinent information
Only 33 days to go....
@Kathar1na - a Camino Angel....nay... A SAINT! 😍🥰
so many questions patiently answered.
Here is my take on it and 5pense for what its worth:
Get all the shots there are (vaccines, boosters et al) - better safe than sorry and, chances are, this will be required so why risk it...
I believe "the booster" is "the additional" dose after the proper count of original ones (i.e. Pfizer & Moderna had 2 shots each and J&J only 1 so booster therefore is #3 and # 2 respectively)
@trecile
I checked some pharmacies in Madrid (as that is were I will be flying home from). There are number of pharmacies that are indeed open on Sunday, so I guess it is 'doable'...but I will take a look at the test you mention (just something else to 'worry' about while hiking....)
If all works out - I got until July for any laws\requirements to change in regards to not having to take a return test. Certainly enough time for being hopefully optimistic (or is it optimistically hopeful? :rolleyes::))
that would be very nice..... now... God Willing we may even move to where we don't need the Digital EU Passport and (probably even more important) the 24-hr negative test to come back home (makes it very hard to scramble for one on Sunday if one plans to fly back to US on Monday...)
So... got my paper vaccination record card
1st shot - 03/15/21
2nd - 04/12/21 (both Pfizer)
did not get a booster
will it suffice or do i NEED a 'more current' stab (i.e. hence I have to go and get the booster)?
OK, so... to piggy-back on this
lets say all is well with obtaining French credentials. How does one go about Spanish one (and yes I do know about the SpHT site; let me explain)?
IIRC when we went to Barcelona last year I had to complete my registration on the said site within 48 hours of...
As long as this is touched.... I have a friend who will go to Barcelona from Paris via train (Gare de Lyon ---> Barcelona Sants) in couple of weeks. he is a US citizen, fully vaccinated inc the booster. Granted with full understanding that things change faster than we blink, but none-the-less...
I just returned from Barcelona (sort of a small consolation for cancelling my May-July CF)
48 hours prior to arriving to Spain I filled out required forms at Spanish Health Center for both my wife and I (both fully vaccinated) and received QR codes
You can store them on the phone or print out...
I did my Spanish health pass about 2 weeks ago for our Barcelona trip (which we just came back from)
It was quite easy to do and no issues
Got the QR and when we landed at BCN and deplaned they scanned it even before we got to the passport control
That was that 👍
