We took the train from Porto to Valenca. Taxi to our pension in Tui. Walked back to Valenca to visit and explore, wonderful food. Spent the night in Tui.
I ship gifts to Germany from California. The last package was very small, pants and top for a Two year old. It cost almost $ 30 postage. The recipient had to pay another 25 Euros upon arrival. I put $ 20 as value on form. Hope this helps.
I do the same, not just for Camino. I change my walking shoes almost every year, depending on usage. Yes, feet change. Your body “settles” as you age (info from my doctor). I have gone from size 5 to size 7, now 80 years young, have scoliosis. Hooka are my most favorite walking shoes.
Why not use something biodegradable like newspaper or leafs? I personally collect the last ends of my toilet paper roll, cardboard roll removed, carry a few compostable baggies. This does not addd much weight to my pack. On the walk, so easy to do the right thing. Used paper in compostable bag...
I have found so many times when trying to book on Booking.com, and there were no availabilities, I contacted the hotel directly and they had availability. I was informed that they always keep a few units back.
My husband was hurt, broken shoulder, had to go to hospital in Santiago. They did not except insurance, we provided Visa and he was treated. Great service! Even provided interpreter! Upon returning back to US we contacted the Allianz insurance and all was re-imbursed. Waiting till next year to...
Husband and I (age 76 and 79) walked it a couple years ago. A bit disappointing after walking the Portuguese. Very easy walking on the Ingles. No problem with lodging or finding places to eat. In Ferrol Patisserie Swiss girl for breakfast. Recommend the one mile “complementary” route to Neda...
The same has happened to me. I told them that I need at least one for walking because of physical issues and they finally let me take them on. Thinking of getting a doctors note for my next camino.
That’s what I do on my trip home. Only have a problem taking them on plane in Santiago. We usually do not fly straight home. Need them for rest of trip. Put them into backpack, but still were not allowed. I need them for physical issues.
I have a program called “greeting card factory”. It has different size temples, I can add my own photos, write messages, and so much more. I give cards as gifts and also sell them. I love this program.
Besides the coffee beans used it is most important on the correct cup one uses. Also preheating the cup is very important. We get our beans from a local roaster who mixes beans from different countries. This makes a wonderful espresso with lots of crema.
I totally agree with you. I am 78 and postponed my trip. Don’t know if I will be able to walk by the time it is safe. But,I will be thankful that I did not get Covid and spread it to others. My advice is: stay home as is requested to keep others safe.
