It's a good time of year, done it in 2020 doing it again now. Everything is pretty much open. The weather cool and changeable, we have come up from Almeria on the Mozarabe this trip and had a heat wave and rain 2020 we had snow too. Bring clothes to cope with the wet and cold and hot sun...
There's a place to stay halfway to Alcaracejos at Minas Guillerm. We booked it by What's app number is in the Almeria association booklet you can down load.
Well, looks pretty good to me.I found I can get away with only two pairs of undies and socks and I'd leave behind either the sundress or shorts. I don't bother with extra shoes either as trail runners are ok for the evening. If they fit they fit. I pack a poncho instead of rain pants and jacket...
Whilst I've neve done the Frances, I've done the Via de la Plata, the Northern Route, pat of the Portuguese and am walking the Mozarabe at the moment. I've never reserved with a credit card. I know the Frances will be popular and you'll be rareing to go and worried about getting accomodation but...
I find 36lt is plenty. I use an unstructured Gossamer Gear pack with a sit mat in the back. If you take more than 8 to 10 kg you've got too much stuff.
Camino Mozarabe, water 2lt on the long stretch to Cordoba a couple of days ago. Pack is Gossamer Gear. Two big mesh bottle pockets plus mesh stash pocket on the back. liv this unstructured lightweight pack. It's done 1000s of miles with me.

We are on the Mozarabe at the moment. 400 km up the road now in Cordoba. We've had no trouble with dogs, but are very aware of the possibilities. This is our 3 rd Camino and have not so far been all that bothered by dogs. Ones that do roam free are usually put off approaching by picking up a...

We encountered a big lightening storm when going North ( home from our Camino) on the border of Spain and France. The highest part of the French Route. We were on Mountain Bikes and heading along the GR 10 , so rode very fast for the valley, we had torrential rain for an hour or two with...
I think we will probably head on up to Yuste Monestario and along the GR route to meet up with the VdlP a bit furher north. But still may make our way to Avila via another route, theres just some mountains in the way! with it being a winter Camino, we may have snow in that area and have to...
I think this is the one I was looking at. Have you done it?
I have looked at the rought route on Google earth and it seems there a lot of tarmack and road walking, but Im uncertain.
Do you know if its way marked?
I'm looking at an alternative to the Mozarabe from joining the VdlP at Merida.
There are hints of leaving the Mozarabe and heading to Guadalupe and onwards towards Avila.
I don't know how realistic these routes are though, if they just follow highways.
I know there is a new variant via Trujillo...
I've done a few big hikes if a few months and bike rides, including 2 Camino's. You sort of get into the mind thing. At first you feel like you're not getting anywhere, maybe you struggle physically too, which is a mental strain.
I always feel a bit driven and striving for the first couple of...
