    Backpack??

36L should be fine. I walk from Le Puy to Puente La Reina with a 30L pack. It was nearly sufficient but prevent me for carrying stuff for the others. I have now a 38L and it fits well.

    Waterproof hiking shoes/boots?

Blisters come from warmth and humidity. Therefore avoiding blisters implies to dry your feet (getting your shoes and your socks off as often as you can). Waterproof shoes (like rubber boots) are not a good idea for hiking. You'd rather choose another solution: - shoes suitable for rain - when...

Backpack: UL vs. Structured vs. In-between

I do not agree: saving 500gr is always a good thing, especially if you are not fit. Our backpack weighs the weight of our fears: often we bring too many things "in case of...".

Backpack: UL vs. Structured vs. In-between

The only rule about backpack weight is that it should be as light as possible. I can’t see any reason why a man weighing 150kgs could carry a 15kgs pack as easily as I do with a 8kgs pack.

Backpack: UL vs. Structured vs. In-between

I am walking from albergue to albergue, therefore I can carry very few things, and I do not need a structured backpack. Mine is a Wilsa 38L. Consider that if you are in light version (4.4kg), choosing the Deuter Futura Pro 36 means that you increase the carried weight by a third...

    Equipment for November Camino

Yes : bigger means heavier. On the Camino, we walk from villages to towns. If you have no tent, a 40l should be sufficient.

Review of packinglist for october frances please! =)

No, all albergues do not provide blankets. You can find some which do not have. Furthermore, it is not a good idea to sleep with your day clothes. Forget the stone and bring a blanket or a sleeping bag.

Three section telescoping vs. folding poles.

I have used telescoping poles for 3 years. But 15 days ago I arrived in Santiago and spent 3 days in the same albergue. When leaving, my poles were not in the container anymore... Therefore, I bought folding poles (Alpin Loacker carbon), in order to be able to keep them in my backpack when...

Corkscrew do I take one with me?

As a french man (ie a wine expert), I would say it mainly depends on your breakfast menu. If you drink coffee at breakfast, 13:00 is a perfectly acceptable time indeed. Otherwise, it seems a bit too late to begin your day.
