    Get out and walk, a lot. Build up to 10km and over a day. Put a few days walks in a row. When you are used of that, add weight.

    I wouldn't go near a bladder. To fill it you've to take it out of the bag. you can use a bottle to pour water over your head, feet etc Two small bottles - one on either side of the pack is a good option for balance.

    Absolutely no problem the last 5 nights in Espinal, Pamplona, Puente La Reina, Estella or Torres del Rio. Some sore feet and joints, but plenty of wine and beer being consumed to keep spirits high

    Arriving in St Jean 9th May. Heading off on the 10th, hopefully. Planning to fly out of Santiago on June 14th. Looking forward to meeting people and having a chat on the walk and in the evenings!

    true. a jar of coffee costs €4, which would do for 2 weeks. Or €4 a day for two cups of coffee would be €56. Same with tea. Just saying. Small savings add up and is why I've travelled so many places.

    Hmmmmm. For the sake of a tiny stove, lightweight pot, lighter and some gas I think its worth it. But maybe that's just me, having hiked some serious hikes in NZ, Canada and the USA. Ability to make soup, coffee, tea, noodles,
