Last CF I did (mid March-April) there were days I needed my small lightweight Woods Sleeping bag but am hoping to do another (CF or Le Puy) this coming Spring and I am considering bringing a sleeping bag liner and a lightweight small polar fleece blanket. Has anyone done similar and has thoughts...
Lots, though we chose to buy ours at a store close to the Pilgrims Office I am sure there are way more. We bought the cheapest pair and they were great throughout the whole trip.
As far as the poles go I found that when I used them vigorously I had shoulder issues but when I kept my arms in a natural swing with the poles I had less problems. Initial stiffness is normal
I bought mine from the local Dollar Store. During the day as I bought a neck one I hang it around my neck under my top shirt. At night it’s at the bottom of my sleeping bag
I bought my poles in SJPdP, I bought the 2nd cheapest set and I am still using them. I expected to pay more than here and I did but I did not want the worry of taking poles with my Carry On and the possibility they would be confiscated. I brought a small sleeping bag with me.
I wore all quick dry clothes, I showered every day and light washed my clothes every day. No odour and fresh every day. I had a Merino wool long sleeve top which I wore as a top layer as I found it itchy but I do have super sensitive skin
Yes and no, the clothes I bring are quick dry so for the lost part I give them a quick wash in the sink, hang them on my bunk and they are dry in the morning. This was done during a wet spring.
Shoes are such a person choice but I would say if your shoes are causing you pain and rubbing the wrong way if you can afford to buy another pair along the way.
I am 5’9” female and I bought a 36L Woods brand from Canadian Tire. It was a store brand that was light weight and has served me well. I could have spent a lot more for a lighter weight back and top opening pack that weighed ounces. But I bought the one that fit my back length the best, I did...
I happily retired mine into a circular file 😀 they did what they were supposed to do and after I got home I tossed them into ghe trash. As I am a no trace camper I do find it offensive when people leave their shoes on the side of the road/trails/rocks as others have to come by and toss them...
I use a money belt around my waist or neck to carry all valuables, with getting my passport out discreetly before getting to my Albergue. Bonus is my pack strap has a discreet pocket that I carry my daily cash in that I take out every time my pack is off
All feet are different, I personally preferred the old school Moleskin brand that I brought from Canada over Compeed. But the best protection for my feet was when I switched to Injini toe socks with a light smartwool sock over top.
I bought a Tilley Hat, you can choose the style you like but the quality and guarantee is amazing. We hit all weather types: snow, rain, sun and extremely hard headwinds and it was perfect
