I’m so scared of heights the paths are fine with me but the bridges are another story. Crossing into Spain from the Portuguese ….horrible. Going into Portomarin….horrible going into Porto…. Horrible I get the sweats and shakes
Just arrive at Madrid Airport early €29 for antigen test book time online. Although they do take walk ups but you have to wait. Got results in 15 mins. Too easy
I did the tour a few years ago definitely only Spanish, however still very interesting and as a bonus the young girl doing the tour would occasionally tell me something in English.
Wow I left the Camino 2 weeks ago in Astorga as there were too many pilgrims and the Albergue there packed us in like sardines. Didn’t feel Covid safe so went to Portuguese and walked backwards much better
I am walking in late October and have a cheap lightweight tent in my backpack if I can’t get accomodation. I will pitch the tent when it gets dark and be gone after the sun comes up nobody will know I have been there. It is a good option in these times.
We won’t open up until most people are vaccinated so convince all your friends to do so. I am lucky I obtained an exemption after 3 tries and am in the USA visiting grandchildren. I have my backpack and hiking gear with me and plan to walk in October.

I have done a combination of camping and accomodation on 5 Caminos and the 88 Temples in Japan. We never cook and try to camp where there is running water. Always take your rubbish with you and leave the site as you find it.
My advice to you is to buy a cheap lightweight 2 man dome tent that...
