Hi, I've just posted this to another forum member, it may be some help.

Hi, In 2012 I walked from Barcelona to Monserrat then followed the Catalan Camino through Huesca and San Juan de la Peña to join with the Camino Aragonese and then the Camino Francés at Puente la Reina.
I was a 55 at the time and walked solo until i met a friend in Logrono. The route was quite...
The Lone Peaks were just not suitable for the first half of the rough VdlP terrain. Not enough cushioning & support rendered ankle pain. Got some Merrill trail shoes & they’re great. In Zamora at the moment & shoes working well.
I’ve had the same question, Thermolite plus silk sleep bag. I’ve just bought a new sleeping bag, Mont Zero 230, not cheap but will be worth it & ‘comforting’ at the end of the day. I start from Seville at end March & expect some cool nights.
In 3019, my friend slipped on wet cobblestones in Lisbon, wearing Teva hiking sandals…leg broken in 3 places & a broken ankle!
I’ve changed to Ecco off-road & they’re coming on the VdlP with me in a couple of weeks…also my Altra Olympus.
Thanks for the review and will wait for your next update.
I've been wearing Olympus low cut for some time and recently bought Lone Peak 6. Like you, I found them too light for long distance walking and not enough under foot support. I'm about to get another pair of Olympus as I don't think my...
Yes, I'd be interested in your lodging list between Gibralter and Lisbon. How interesting and may have to add it to my list...after the Via Francigena from London!!
I walked from Lisbon to Compostela in 2019 and although I didn't find albergues, the small hotels on the way were adequate...just a...
I can’t help but respond to the call of the Camino…perfect experience . The VdlP has me puzzling over the weather in April & May. Sleeping bag or not?
In the past, I’ve gone with a Thermalite sleep sack & silk sleeping sack.
Have you previously experienced the VdlP in April?
Would appreciate...
Greetings from Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
I start walking the VdlP at the end of March. I too have walked several Caminos over the last 18 years but...I always change a few things when I embark on a new Camino.
I have replaced my old Osprey with an Osprey Eja...it feels perfect and a little...
I'm starting on the VdlP on 29 March & not feeling very confident re the accommodation in the early stages so far.
It seems it's impossible to book the Albergue Luz del Camino in Guillena and according to GK's book, the Municipal has been closed since Covid.
Is finding a bed each night on the...
