I got 2 blisters on the heels and the only thing different from previous training walks were the double layer socks. Never again! Back to liner sock + merino wool sock (lightweight).
I guess it depends how well you adjust to jet lag and if you need some recovery time before you set off. I will be arriving in Biarritz and will take a day to rest/explore. I flew all that distance and I want to see that part of the country. I will then cab it to Gare Bayonne and take the train...
I guess what I would consider common sense (such as turning off your electronics or putting them on vibrate) are not always apparent. I expect I will be tested a few times, but heck I'm not perfect so I'm sure I'll annoy somebody with my sunny morning disposition. lol

Oh by no means are short walkers necessarily slow walkers...we just have to take more steps due to the length of our stride compared to taller individuals. I'll be like Thomas the Tank...I think I can, I think I can! Slow to start, faster finish. lol
