Hi
I created a group a few years ago but I never did anything with it. I was too busy with the Via de la Plata group which started to get busy at that time.
The URL is https://www.facebook.com/groups/irishpilgrimsonthecamino/
If you'd like to take over this group you're very welcome. I've...
Hi James
Thank you for your most gracious reply. I'm glad to hear you found the button for the maps, etc. Maybe I need to make them bigger?
I always welcome donations on my website if you're feeling generous! https://www.viadelaplataguide.net/
Yes, the Sanabrés is very different from...
Hi James
I walked this route less than a year ago and updated the walking notes in my guide to include the two places you mention, the now restored path through Aciberos and that small route change before A Gudiña. My apps are also up-to-date for both of these places, including the maps.
The...
I have stayed in Hostal San Francisco, it was 30€. It's a nice little town but to be honest I've only gone up to the historic bit once, it's just too much of a climb. https://www.viadelaplataguide.net/guide/puebla-de-sanabria
Hi Karol
Very nice update. Thank you!
I have added your blog to our Via blogs page. https://www.viadelaplataguide.net/pages/blogs-about-walking-the-via-de-la-plata
Gerald
I've walked both way several times. There's not a lot to choose between them but if you go right you're out of the city faster and, as someone else said, less road walking, bloody steep though!
I would talk to other people in the albergue in Oseira and agree with them to walk as a group for the first hour or so.
Otherwise, please don't let this worry you, these kinds of incidents are extremely rare.

Clearly there's a problem about 3km after Oseira at the moment. Someone's dogs are running wild. Hopefully they'll get them under control soon.
Hi John!
Since you haven't mentioned Oseria I presume you're going the left route.
Well, you have several options on the way to A Laxe. There's a new albergue in Piñor and after that there's Hostal Ateneo, the in Castro Dozon there's Casa Dozón, the at Estación de Lalín there's Hostal A...
The route of the Camino goes through Aciberos. It was diverted across the motorway, past some concrete silos and across to Lubian along another path because of the AVE works. It's been restored to its original route through Aciberos for about 3 years now. That said, there isn't much to chose...
