Hi. PF hit me hard a few weeks ago. PF is where an issue manifests. I had one session with an Amatsu lady and the problem was not in my foot at all. I feel perfect again. Not sure if Amatsu is available in your area but it worked 100% for me. Liam
Hello from wee Ireland.
In my experience the best method of booking ahead is WhatsApp with the numbers on the wisepilgrim app. I send my message in both Google translated Spanish and English and it has proven very effective.
Thats it!!
Ah you just can’t beat Casa Susi in Trabadelo. The best by a country mile!!! Incredible hosts; low numbers and absolutely superb food. You will not find better!! In my not so humble opinion!!! Liam
Having spent 10 weeks on Camino Frances over since 2017 I'd say I have used earphones for no more than a couple of hours and that was when I was on my own and just tired and need a distraction.
I don't like earphones on the Camino. I want to hear all there is to hear from the cuckoo to the lark...
If ever doing Camino Francés again I would walk from SJPDP on Day 1 to overnight in Orisson for two reasons; it shortens that long long climb and gives one great chance to meet people at the communal meal. And away you go then.
Hi. Did I see a poster somewhere on C Frances this year of bridges on the Camino? I am sure I did; it looked super. Maybe it can be located online.
Liam
Oh stopping now will not help. You are so close and walking the last week or more will give you great assurance in being able to do it. Yes you can. And you will.
I gave up in Burgos in 2021 (too near Covid days) and I came home in a bad mood. Giving up is a horrible experience unless of course...
Hi and delighted to hear you are ready to start. You have received tons of wise suggestions; not sure if I can add anything. If you only have 24 days and assume going at the Brierley pace of 33 days then you need to 'skip' 9 stages!! My suggestion would be to 'skip' those in one block early on...
Suggestion. Consider staying at Orisson on first night out of St Jean. It will require booking. The double benefits are it will shorten that brutal walk over the mountain and you get to meet lovely people who will be setting out with you in the morning. Just my tuppence worth!! You’ll love it!!
We are getting back on the way on Thursday morning in Leon. I presume there is a good flow of pilgrims going into Leon tomorrow. See some of you on the cafe strip tomorrow evening. Liam
Book the first three or four nights. Then you will be in the flow and let the Camino take you!! And you’ll fall in love with it. If you want to!!! I’m sure you’ll have a truly amazing time whatever amazing means for you. Love and Buen Camino
Oh please ditch all expectations!! Be open!! Open to whatever the Camino throws up for you. Allow yourself to appreciate and love it. Hope I have kept this really simple!!
And rem a full pack must not be more than 10% of one’s own weight. I get mine down to 7kgs and that’s enough for me. Both in terms of what I carry and the weight on my back!!! Go light!!
Hi. You have tons of information now. But why carry a pillow across Spain when you can buy one if necessary in Santiago!!! I use a poncho which means no need for rain jacket. I wear shorts so no need for rain pants!! You gotta remove every ounce not necessary!! Best of luck. Liam
