About every twenty minutes Monday to Friday. Slightly less frequent on Saturdays. About once per hour on Sundays and public holidays. Bus number 4 timetable on this website: https://www.txiktxak.fr/preparez-votre-trajet/fiches-horaires-hiver-a-telecharger/
The fastest journeys are about 7 hours and involve a change of stations in Madrid. The RENFE website is not very helpful for journeys which involve a change of trains. It might be worth searching using a third-party website instead. That can also overcome the occasional problems with making...
There are several daily buses from Los Arcos to Logroño. The bus company is La Estellesa. Timetable search on their website.

That is one of my concerns. I believe that travel insurance is much cheaper for we Brits and probably the Irish too than for most people from the USA and Canada in any case. Even with a couple of pre-existing medical conditions my annual policy was £35 for any number of trips provided the...
Answer might depend on your nationality and country of residence. I'm a Brit and I always buy a standalone annual travel insurance policy - mostly for the medical cover.
La Voz de Galicia has an article on the reopening of Vigo airport which has been closed for runway repairs. Sometimes a handy alternative to flights to/from Santiago...
My personal choice would be bus to Porto (ALSA or Flixbus) and train from there. If time was not an issue then train to Vigo, second train to Porto and third train to Lisbon.
Ryanair have announced that after November they will no longer be flying to/from Bordeaux. Unfortunate for those heading for SJPDP as it is a useful alternative to Biarritz.

Some news that was posted on Facebook by Johnnie Walker which I'm sure he won't mind my repeating here. Not sure who his informant was. The post was quite long but I'll just repost it here in full.
"Hi John! Important news about the bus connections between the airport and the city that will...
On the desktop version of the ALSA website there is a drop-down menu for documents which allows you to choose "other document". I would use that. Buses can and do fill up at times and as there is only one bus per day on that route getting stuck in Pamplona would be a pain in the posterior.
You must take two buses. 18:45 from the airport to Lugo. Then 20:35 from Lugo to Sarria arriving at 21:05. There is no direct bus from the airport to Sarria at that time of day.

There is also a bus stop on the main road below the Mercado de Abastos. Opposite side of the road just outside a school. Closer to the historic centre.
Probably best to take the train to SJPDP. From there you can take one bus per day to Roncesvalles - run by ALSA and leaves at 13:45. Or you can book a ride with Express Bourricot.

I saw a Facebook post recently from someone who had run out of cash about 3 days walk from the nearest ATM on the Via de la Plata. So used to card payments that they just didn't think to keep a reserve of cash on hand. Worth remembering that there are still places in rural Spain which do not...
