Hi JustJack, I've taken the train every time I've gone. The one time I booked a flight, AirCanada was delayed, and delayed, and I ended up missing that flight to Biarritz. I had to go by train that time, too. The whole flight from Vancouver was so stressful knowing that I barely had time to get...
In addition to the places that others have mentioned, I will add Albergue Luz, in Fromista. A very comfortable setting with the most exceptional hosts, Anita and Gabriel, who are living the spirit of the camino. They helped us deal with the bedbugs we arrived with, in the kindest, most...
Hi Mike, I live just down the road from you, in Nelson. I'm curious about flying in and out of Madrid, and how you got from there to SJPdP? I have gone via Paris and Barcelona, and each of them involves trains and buses, and, even, an Uber, to get there. I enjoyed your summary, by the way :)
I'm thinking mid-May 2022, starting in SJPdP, but won't book any flights till much closer to that time. I'll be watching covid developments, both at home, and in Spain, for the next few months.
My daughter (Charlotte) and I stayed with you in October 2018. We arrived with terrible bedbug bites. You both were so kind, helpful and compassionate and helped us continue on our way. So I am not surprised to see that you are offering your lovely albergue and hospitality at this time...
Thank you!

Hello dear forum members, I am wondering if I could get recommendations for a good guide book for the Portuguese camino. I have heard of the coastal route, but prefer the other (traditional?) way. Planning on walking mid-May. Thank you!
I'm glad you are okay, Terry. That must've been quite a scare. It will make an interesting tale in the next book, though. The silver lining... Stay safe and buen camino!
