Hi there everyone in the Manawatu, Wairarapa, Rangitikei Southern Hawke's Bay areas,
Phil and Yvonne in Masterton were instrumental in getting the documentary "Walking the Camino" - 6 Ways to Santiago" to come to our part of the world.
It will be shown at Downtown Cinemas in Palmerston North...
This is not Camino-related - though St Francis is reported to have been to Santiago- but I thought some might be interested. I am leaving home in a week for a 10-day walking tour based near Assisi. I am doing it through a commercial company, with my bag carried, and accommodation booked etc, so...
Hi Ivar :-) Quite some time ago you sent out an e-mail that included a link for obtaining the distance certificate from the Pilgrim Office if you have already walked the Camino. I didn't act on the e-mail straight away, but thought I must get 'around to it' one day. Now I find the link doesn't...
At the moment I am following two wonderful blogs from people currently walking the Camino- and I look forward to my (almost daily) dose.
One blog is by John and Robin, experienced pilgrims who have walked from Le Puy to SJPP and who are now on the Norte...
I have just found this tourist guide, put out by the Le-Puy-en-Velay Tourist Office. It is in English, in pdf format. http://www.ot-lepuyenvelay.fr/_fichiers/GUIDES_ETRANGERS/Guide_ANGLAIS_BR.pdf
I think that often people just see Le Puy as a place to get to, so they can start their walking...
Last year (2012) I walked two sections of the Camino Frances. I have just put up some photos on Flickr from the first section- from Pamplona to Santo Domingo de la Calzada.

I've just put up a set of photos on Flickr from my walk last year (2012) along the Camino route from Cluny to Le-Puy-en-Velay.http://www.flickr.com/photos/96274365@N03/sets/72157633640726609/
I've also made a blog about this route- with some of the same photos:

Brad,
I sent you a reply to your earlier query about the Cluny route. Perhaps you don't know how to access it, but it should be sitting in your Inbox part of the Private Message section. It is still sitting in my OUtbox so I can see you haven't read it... I have just sent a reply to your second...
I have just come across this notice for those in Wellington or near it. Too late for the opening night and talk by Archbishop John Dew, but there is a Camino photo exhibition that runs for a brief period until 28 February.
" The Walk of St James
You are warmly invited to the Opening Night of a...
If there is anyone in the Manawatu /Rangitikei /Horowhenua /Tararua /other nearby place who is interested in a meet-up for a Camino-chinwag somewhere, eg the Cafe at the Esplanade in Palmy, please PM me. :D

There is a new guidebook (in French) for the Voie des Piémonts: http://www.chemin-compostelle.fr/boutique-livre-37-Voie-du-Pi%EF%BF%BDmont-pyr%C3%A9n%C3%A9en.htm
Also there is a Facebook link to a map of the route here...
This blog isn't quite on the Le Puy route, but this seems the best place to post about it. I am mid-way through creating a blog about my April-May walk from Cluny to Le-Puy-en-Velay. It contains quite a few photos and my retelling of the walk. It's still in the nature of a 'first draft' but I...
Hi All,
I have just started a blog with photos and notes from the walk I did from Cluny to Le Puy in April-May. So far only two postings in it, but will be adding to it over coming weeks. http://clunychemin.blogspot.co.nz/
This year I also walked from Le Puy to Conques in France; and from...
While I was in Santiago I spent some time with a young woman I met from New York, and she told me to go to Museo do Pobo Galego- to see the amazing staircase in the building as much as the displays. There are three separate staircases twirling around each other- taking you to different places...
In May/June I met up with Marianne from Gisborne in Moissac then again in Los Arcos. I have a nice photo of her from Los Arcos. If anyone knows her, could they please let her know? Ta!

In June I met up with Dean and Trish from Oz several times on the Camino. I have a couple of photos of them that they might like to have. If anyone knows them, could they please let them know I am looking to contact them? Ta!

It's still six weeks until I leave New Zealand- but time is racing by, and I have a 'to do' list a mile long of things I want to cross off before I walk out my front door and head off to the local airport to start the long journey for Paris. Before I know it, it seems like I'll be 'live' from...
There's just been a report prepared about visitor reactions to a very scenic New Zealand wilderness walk- a 53.3km trek along the Milford Track in one of our National Parks. Officials were worried that overcrowding might be spoiling the experience. But it seems that the notorious sandflies in...
I just came across this video on YouTube- has some beautiful photos of the route from Le Puy en Velay to Cahors- including some striking ones in Conques.
