I've just
Finished the del Norte on May 23rd and stayed in San Sebastian at the youth hostel on the outer edge of town, oldies permitted to stay, on April 14th for €23. It was lovely and clean, with kitchen, and i think its got a lot of beds. San Sebastian is a very popular tourist...
I've just completed the del Norte, starting April 12th from Irun. It was challenging for my abilities but I did it with 8 kilo pack. The weather was great except for 2 days of rain all day. The funny thing about the Camino was when I would connect with others for 3 days maximum, then people...
Have just done the costal route, stayed on the road all the time, as advised by Pepe. He marked the costal way and I got into town at 6pm. Got a fantastic apartment further out of town for €25. Overall a great ending to a long day on the Norte. Two restaurants are the red casa and the camping...
I walked it last year in early may and met 4/5 pilgrims on & off for the two weeks. I have lovely memories but prayed for rain. The water situation was tough and I asked locals to fill up my water bottles. It was also personally hard being a vegan on that route.
Afterwards I turned left on the...
When I walked with my fit 35 yo son in 2017 I tried to keep up with his speed & mileage. I did my knee in. Are you trying to match your 18 yo's pace?/ Mileage?
Hi Leigh.
I've just finished (Le Puy - St Jean)in June and had no incident, fantastic scenery and every church is open!. It was quite challenging for the first 10 days so I took it easy. Glad to hear you bought sticks as a 28 year old South African girl (after 3 days) fell, going down a...
For a wonderful 2 week Camino, check out the Madrid Camino to Sahagun, then the San Salvador to Oviedo, then the Primitivo Camino to SdC. 3 gorgeous caminos, not crowded at all, completed 2022....love
BOM caminho.Your shoes could be replaced in Porto, sounds good for you. It took me 6 weeks to walk to Santiago from Lisbon in 2019 but I'd be more concerned about finding enough water each day! Don't forget the Vaseline on your feet every day. Ch
What about walking up (and down) the Story bridge? I remember walking up the Sydney Harbour bridge and gained a lot of confidence in myself, before my first Camino Francis in 2016. I have always got jittery before subsequent caminos....love
Very strange as in Añe Gary Martin & I stayed next to the bar in two double bed rooms, / lounge and across the street there was a 6 bunk albergue open where Chantelle slept, on April 28 th 2022. (For donation)
Love
One little point about walking to Porto, I would catch a bus to Porto & start there, so you are going with the flow of pilgrims not againgst the flow to Santiago. Buen Camino.
love
I've experienced 3 CF's from SJdP & 2 X Portuguese caminos from Porto then Lisbon. I have loved all my pilgrimages.
I always talk about my Fatima experience to Portuguese people as that is the Camino the Portuguese pilgrims love to do.
Difference 2 on the Portuguese there is so much...
