My uncle is telling me today that I need to apply for a VISa to travel in Spain for the 2 months I will be gone.
Can anyone verify if this is correct information?
I haven't come accross anything telling me that I need to get a VISA.
Any information is helpful.
Thank you.
Antonio.
Would you say that it is necessary to bring a combination lock in order to lock stuff up in lockers?
Is it a wotrthless item to bring? Not sure if there are lockers at the albergues or if there are enough albergues with lockers to warrant bringing a lock.
Any feedback on this?
Thanks.
And how long does it take to dry then? I am planning on getting the Permithrin in Saint Jean or Orisson as I cannot find it anywhere in Toronto. So I will be spraying my gear once I am there.
So I'm currently in third year of my university degree. I have registered to do an 'easy' online course beginning May 07 and ending July 25. My Camino will commence late April and end late June. This means that if I choose to keep this course and complete it I will have to use a computer once a...
Thanks for your kind words Alex. I'm interested in knowing what is meant by 'the right stuff'. Does this mean people of a spiritual nature about themselves? Or meaning due to the physical endurance of the trek?
I will be solo, yes. I will start end of April - probably April 29th or so. Starting from SJPDP.
I think the forum members have already helped me get the most of the experience. Now, I am just waiting, gathering my gear, and then off to enjoy every moment.
I certainly know it will be memorable. I went to check out an equipment store in the city to try on several different backpacks and the salesperson said he sees 2-3 people a day saying they are going to do the Camino. I think it will be much more social than I am expecting but that can be a good...
Just received confirmation from my workplace. I have been approved for the time off I requested.
I am now officially going to Spain and doing the Camino de Santiago.
I have such a sense of purpose again. Excited to say the least.
As Bilbo Baggins says as he leaves the Shire,
"I'm going on an...
I'm really appreciative of you sharing this wisdom. I will be reading and re-reading everyone's posts many times before I leave. I feel that you are right in saying that having the expectations I shared will not allow me to be in the present moment. Not being in the present moment is something...
Thanks to everyone for sharing your insights. I've started to take a different approach with dealing with my depression. Aside from therapy which is helpful I have been more honest with people in sharing with them my mental struggle. In taking a risk by making myself vulnerable instead of...
A couple of my favourite movies are Into the Wild and Tracks. These true life stories depict people that were traumatized by life situations. Their need to get away from people and venture into the wildness of nature was a way to deal with their feelings of being an outcast, of not fitting in...
Thanks annie for the great info. I am actually a bit turned off from doing my camino because of these pests. After going through the experience of having them in my apartment and the subsequent steps taken in order to get rid of them i really do not want a repeat experience.
For myself the...
Hmmm. Not really sure what to think about this news. I can see the pluses and minuses but have to admit it doesn't sit well with me. And I still haven't even done the Camino yet. :)
Ok. So a follow up question to the responses I've received...
Does every Albergue have private rooms?
And what kind of a price difference is there between private rooms and the regular Albergue rooms??
Thanks so much.
I just want to confirm with people that have done the Camino that staying at albergues for several days is allowed.
For instance if I decide I want to take a couple of days to recuperate or if I stumble upon a beautiful part of Spain that I want to explore and bask in, will albergue's allow me...
