All went well. There were a few nights where the pilgrim accomodation were full. But managed to find alternatives. Mainly in the first week or so with competition from the French vacation hikers.
Thanks, I walked Le Puy in June / July in 2018 and only had a couple of issues with listed accommodation where the hosts were on vacation but otherwise was no problem. My concern is July August are the French holidays as pilgrims accommodation is currently uncertain I checked booking.com most...
I am now getting quite worried about accommodation availability walking from Vezelay in July. So I thought I would check out the accommodation available using the Voie de Vezelay Resources guide 08 Apr 2023.
Starting from Vezelay. No confirmation in Vezelay I plan to just go to the Centre...
The Communal Gîte at Sancoins has been closed due to Ukrainian refugees "CLOSED FROM DECEMBER 1, 2022 TO MARCH 31, 2023. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING." It does not say if it has opened again. I am planning on walking through Sancoins and stopping at Augy-sur-Aubois. Will see if it is still...
Yes, have a secured a pilgrims room and very much looking forward to spending a night there. Never been to Jersey or MSM. Have been to St Malo before so will head out walking in the morning to Saint-Marcan overnight then to MSM.
Hi on 08 July I am catching the ferry from Poole to Jersey a few hours there then the Ferry to St Malo very late night arrival. Walking to Mont Saint Michel. Then train to Vezelay to start walking the Vezelay route to SJPdP. Not sure after that maybe the tunnel route to Santo Domingo still...
Hi, I start from Vezelay on the 16 July to SdC. I doubt you will be there by then so I will we walking before you. Maybe I can do some updates on the route while walking. I walked the LePuy in 2018.
Thank You, I have downloaded the gpx and poi files from the "Voie de Vézelay" site. Will now try and download a gpx of just the GR 654 so I can have them both on the same map and see the difference. I can then also switch between them, or go my own way as needed while walking.
I like the...

The GR 654 is the route mostly referred to and I have the gpx file. However some...
Hi All,
Flight booked so will be starting the Camino Via Lemovicensis (Vezelay) from Vezelay to SJPDP starting on the 12 July.
I have been coming across information that the pilgrim accommodations on this route are now hosting Ukrainian refugees.
Can anyone advise how the available pilgrim...

Looking to walk Canterbury to Rome starting late May/Early April. Had the walk planned for 2020 but could not leave Australia due Covid. This will now be for my 68th Birthday.
My biggest concern is one knee is wearing out. I am planning to take an ultra light poncho tarp that can be made into...
Australia is still one of the only countries that will not let its citizens actually leave the country without a permit. The required exit permit is very difficult to obtain and walking an overseas Camino does not qualify as a good reason.
Just announced this week that the overseas travel ban...
Hi Anamya,
No problems did it solo and walked all the way including the 50km+ of beach walking. I could cross the border as I live near Penola and have a cross border community permit. I posted each section on my facebook page link below
