70 is quite young! IMHO!!!
I'm a good few years past that and same age friends and I are still tramping along various caminos
Just keep on going at your own pace. Great for body and mind.

Recently a lady on the Portuguese Camino had to take a similar rest. She stayed at an albergue and received treatment. Her son walked on alone, then the lady took transport to meet her son 5 days later. They both walked into Santiago and completed their camino together
In Santiago there's a massive new bus station by the train station. I'm sure you can get your tickets there.
In Finistère there's a kiosk with someone on duty à shortwhile before bus departure and tickets can be purchased there. The bus in May departed a little further up the hill.
Sorry to hear your sad news and I hope your journey home will be straightforward.
Remember the Camino will always be there. So come back when you can and pick up where you left off.
For a non Santiago arrival try the Camino del Baztan. Stunningly peaceful and beautiful. Very few people, locals or pilgrims.
Bayonne to Pamplona.
You could always continue on the Camino Frances from Pamplona.
Crowded, yes even on a Thursday afternoon when I travelled and stood with rucksack on my back all the way to the airport. ( no giving up a seat to an older passenger. )
