    Compostela Question

Imagine the screams from Hotel owners in Sarria if they thought Pilgrims were starting and finishing in Santiago and bypassing them

Do some people not get stamps?

Added to what others have said. Rarely did people on their first camino not get stamps or their Compostella. Many of us have walked multiple times and while most of us I guess carry a Credencial, it no longer is as important after a few Caminos

Do some people not get stamps?

Do you drop any personal restrictions on Camino?

Nope, what you see on Camino is how I am at home as far as I can. Since my first Camino I realised I had to try and be more tolerant of others and their ways and have taken that on board and brought that home with me Upon my return...

Throwback to a trip last month with my recently departed rescue in Sussex England he was only interested in rabbit holes and not a view of the Seven Sisters

    Picking an accommodation

If there is a small group of you, booking in advance would be prudent. Hard enough at times to get a bed as a solo pilgrim in busy times

How do you feel when you finish a camino?

Very much this. I've always arrived on my own and have enjoyed the smiles and happy faces in the Cathedral Square. It was my first time going to mass for maybe 25 years also. I also like the feeling of pilgrim watching along the route, have sometimes picked up the odd straggler for a few days (...

    Camino fatigue?

I mean this in the nicest way possible... I think it might be time for you to break up with the camino... maybe a trial separation. If you have tied all your happiness to walking caminos and are now feeling jaded then perhaps it's time for something new ? I don't mean walking thru different...

Where do ( did ) you walk locally in 2024?

I live in Sussex but am fortunate to be able to use a friends static caravan in North Cornwall and be able to walk from lots of locations near there. The tourists arrive when the nice photos appear and give them ideas :) I have completed maybe 500km of the path now but not able to do a...

    Few questions - advice

On odd occasions when I have had too many wet clothes for a day or so I have used a small piece of climbing rope with pegs and safety pins , hung from my backpack to dry as I walked. I'm never bothered about how it looks :) yes to the spork. my top tip is always bringing my own pillow case

    What's changed?

Concur with the rest above. 2018 to 2022 , around a 25% increase. September time (booked St Jean and Roncesvalles only ) busy but never struggled for a bed when I decided to stop Flights and trains were more expensive when I was watching the early prices, Eurostar was 20% more but SNCF was...
