Thanks for the info. I used the black Diamond that had an ergo grip last year but not as exaggerated as the pacer pole. I’m definitely going to order a set of these. I believe trekking poles or at least a walking stick is a must.
Thanks, again!
I used them last year for the first time and they were of great help. The only issue I had was that my hands would go numb, so I am sure it was holding too tight. I am going back next year, and I will use them, again, because I needed them for balance on the uphill hikes as well as on the...
I guess I did not purchase the correct Tilley, but I never did like mine. I bought a SunDay hat that I love....vented, great wicking, the brim is not too wide plus it has slots in the outer head band that will firmly hold your sunglasses. I lost my first one, but I replaced it with the exact...
I used Ivar’s service, and it was super. His warehouse is close to the cathedral. I will definitely do it, again! I would also suggest shipping from Spain. I used French postal service, and it was very expensive.
That was what I understood when I was reading about the requirements. It is great to hear from someone that has experienced what I am about to do.
Thanks so much for the info!!
My first Camino starts on July 4th from SJPdP. I am arriving in Paris on the 2nd. Seeing that I do not need a covid test to return to the US, I want to make sure of my needs for my arrival in Paris.
I am fully vaccinated with both booster shots. I think all I need is a dPLF form and my...
I am going to take my time getting to SJPDP. I am not leaving until 11:24am the next day. When I fly over, I am checking my backpack to Paris and traveling with a smaller backpack with my non-hiking clothes and shoes. I am staying about 3 months in Spain, so I am in no hurry. Gathering all my...
I am staying at the Ibis Styles Bayonne Centre Gare. It is a little pricey but I wanted a good night's sleep after a long trip from the states. I was told it is only 2 blocks from the train station.
I am taking the train from CDG to Montparnasse, then connecting on to Bayonne in July. After spending the night in Bayonne, I am taking train/bus to SJPDP. I purchased my tickets 2 weeks ago.
I have traveled to Europe many times, and the only time I had a problem with my luggage was in Amsterdam. I truly believe that the problem was not with the airport. I had planned a short layover in Amsterdam(less than an hour). The airlines did not have sufficient time to get my luggage to my...
I am doing what kirkie said to do. I am flying over from the US with my backpack and trekking poles in a large hard case piece of luggage that I will check. My carryon will be a small office style backpack that will contain my return clothes and anything else I may need for my flight. When I...
I am doing the same. The added weight, if any, does not compare to the weight of the worry if I find myself 'blind" because of an infection or injury in my eye.
