    Choir group on the Camino

I had the immense privilege to walk the Camino in 2010 while a french choir were walking, they would stop and sing each day, and it never failed to bring me to tears, accapella singing on the Camino, I don't think it gets any better! I am in Oz, if you want to ask any questions e-mail me...

    Two month to go jitters

Joan, I headed off in 2010 for my first Camino, first trip OS, on my own. It was awesome, amazing, inspiring, and now when I am fearful of something new, I remind myself of that journey and away I go! You will come back changed, and in the very best way possible! The Camino will look after...

What to do at The End

For many of us, the end is only the beginning! My personal experience was a wish for some quiet time to process everything the Camino brought me. Everyone has a different reaction, but it might be worthwhile allowing a week after Santiago just to sit quietly and contemplate!

I walked in autumn last year with pilgrimpathways and would recommend them to anyone, our accomodation and the luggage transfer were spot-on. Curtis, (our guide) was terrific company and looked after everything for me.

    Gore-tex or leather? Best exercises?

I started with leather shoes and they were a disaster for me, I would recommend Gore-tex as they allow your feet to breathe, and dry overnight if you are walking in the rain, which is bound to happen as you travel thru Galicia!

Nervous first timer: Is mid May OK, and how fit do I have to

I walked the Frances way in Oct. and as a sports trainer will just make a comment on the difference between jogging and walking fitness. The main strength in your legs for walking needs to be your hamstring, each walk stride you take creates what is termed 'foot strike', this creates a shock...

Plan to go in September 2011

PadreQ, I walked at the end of Sept. 2010, and found it cool enough that a sleeping bag was necessary most nights, you will know what you need to take, allowing for some wet days, and also warmer weather sometimes. I went with no expectations and had the experience of a lifetime, so much so that...

    Hiking Shoes, or Hiking Boots?

I walked in autumn last year, and after reading various blogs on footwear for the camino went out and bought top of the range leather hiking boots.
