    I walked the Frances last September. Absolutely no problem with albergues. They were well organised re covid risk. Some were closed but plenty of beds for the reduced numbers. I will start walking the Portuguese on September 2nd and don't anticipate and problems. I never book ahead.

    Thanks Trecille...I like to walk one Camino per year.My first was The Frances in 2007 and repested it last September. I am doing a shorter one this year whilst recovering from Long Covid. I am hoping to be able to add the Ingles after reaching Santiago.

    Depending on the Camino route you choose it is free or less than one pound. I swear by Wise Pilgrim. The amount of information is superb. Accommodation details, route information maps...in short everything you could possibly need. Just go to your app store and select your chosen Wise Pilgrim...

    I use Wise Pilgrim apps for my Caminos. They are terrific with all the information you could possibly need. Very easy to use.

    🌱 Vegetarians, Vegans and friends of plant based food

    I had vegan food in several places along the Frances last September.My favourite vegan albergue was the Albergue Verde in Hospital de Orbigo. Great food, beautiful place, lovely people, Yoga sessions.

    You will find that lots of private albergues have private rooms at low cost.

    Many albergues do not like or use Bookings.com. My favourite apps for the Caminos I have walked are the Wise Pilgrim apps.They provide you with great information including all types of accommodation.
