You would imagine that a pilgrim snores on purpose. If snoring annoys any pilgrim I would suggest that are not suited to be a pilgrim and they should be the ones staying in a hotel. A Pilgrim is one who is on a religious or spiritual journey and enduring hardships along the way would not be...
I’ve walked the EPW 6 times and the HWF once. I’m a slower walker and I love these walks for the reasons that others complain about .To me it’s a challenge (I’m 79) and I love the different cultures and the people I meet, both locals and hosts. You get back more than you give In my opinion. I’ve...
Well young man it should be no problem for you. Well if your like me it’ll be a challenge but very doable.
I waked my first Camino from Le Puy in 2010 at the age of 70. Now 8 years later I’ve walked 12 Camino’s plus numerous others, some more than once like Via Francigena and the European...
One more thing. On my first Camino from Le Puy to Santiago, in 2010 , 3 weeks into my journey I suffered a hernieated disk and had to be repatriated home for an operation on my back. I returned to where I stopped within 12 months and finished my 1000 mile Camino. I was 70 years old when I...
Yes. The Spanish Post Office have a service for transporting rucksacks. It works out at just over 4 Euro a day. It is very reliable. The hospilario in your Albergue will help you set it up.
Keep the sports up.

I walked my first Camino aged 70 in 2010 and I’m still walking Caminos, at least one every year. I suffer from Arthritis in my neck and wrists. On my first Camino I suffered a Hernieated disc and had to be repatriated home for an operation on my back but returned to where I was forced to stop...
Yes I made that decision in 2010 at the age of 70 to walk from Le Puy to Santiago a distance of 1000 miles. I carried a backpack that was too heavy at 12kg plus food and water. Near Lectoure I slipped a disk and was looked after by Veronique in her Gite until I was able to be repatriated home ...
When I met David in 2011 I truely thought that I had met an angel. I was so overcome by his hug as I left him that I was unable to speak. Years after I still thought of him and wondered if he really existed. It's only through posts like this have I learned that indeed David existed, not only in...
In 2015 I walked the Portuguese Camino ( also in 2013 and 2024) and I also saw litter on the way, a lot of it apparently from PilgrimBut I also saw local people doing Trojan work up the trail making it better for us to walk on.
Im from Ireland and travel through Dublin Airport several times every year. Its a small Airport. It has two terminals 5 minutes walk to go from one to the other. Go for it . You should have no problem.

I have walked from Le Puy to Santiago. On a number of occasions, as I walked alone, hearing another pilgrim coming up behind me, I stepped back to let him or her pass, to find that there was no one there. I was still alone, or was I?
Hi Laelia,
You have nothing to fear. You seem to be an open , receptive person, so you will have help if you need it. As others have said if you want to be on you your own, then that isn't a problem, and when you want company you will have an abundance. You will make lifelong friends. You will...
To those who commented on my post, --thanks. But the secret of my walking is 1. I walk slowly and 2. I pace myself for the distance I am walking and 3. In training I build up my stamina slowly.
So expect me to be the last in every day.
I am one of the lucky ones accepted for the inaugural European Peace Walk starting on 28th July. I am very excited by this, and honoured by being appointed the Irish Ambassador for the Peace Walk. I started serious long distance when I was seventy. To date I have walked from Le Puy to Santiage...
