Buen camino pilsgrims,
Has someone recently have flown with Qatar from Australia to Madrid with an osprey 36l ? Qatar has. Limit of 50 cm and the osprey is 60 because of the frame. I want it to know if you have had any issues taking in as carry on instead of checking in?
Regards
Fernando
Hola Caminantes,
We are leaving from Brisbane on the 4th May and wanted to know if I would need a voice plus data mobile plan or just data. I was thinking that I might need voice to be able to call the albergues or all of the use WhatsApp?
Also has some one ever calculated how much data they...
Thanks for the help. Yes, Qatar only accepts packs of 50Cm, and mine is 60Cm, so check-in will have to be :)
Do you plastic wrap the backpacks or tie the straps?
Hi Caminantes,
My wife and I are leaving for Madrid from Brisbane - AU on May 4th to walk the Frances. We are flying with Qatar. I am a bit worried that if I check in my backpacks, they have a chance of getting lost and not arriving with me. I was thinking of carrying them on the plane, but...
Hello fellow walkers,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share an update regarding our plans for the Camino. Unfortunately, due to my wife's recent spine surgery, we have decided to postpone our trip until next year. Her recovery is our top priority, and it's best for us to allow...
Thanks, to recall "Spanish rail prices change depending on expected demand and how long a period before you travel." Do you think that booking now for the training would be too soon? The buses are smaller so I will book the ALSA bus to JSPDP but the train I am thinking to hold for a few...
Hi Caminantes, My wife and I are travelling to Madrid to then travel to SJPDP. The plan is to take the train to Pamplona that leaves from Madrid at 7:30 and gets to Pamplona at 10:30 then take a bus that leaves at 12 and gets to SJPDP at 1:45.
For some reason the price of the train goes up...
Bunyaville Conservation Park is my training ground, it has ups, and downs, flats and friendly people which is all that you need for the Camino. Good luck

Hi Pilgrims, The Camino Frances takes 33 days, but we don't have enough days due to work :-( We like to start in SJPDP then, stop, take a Train/Bus to save around 5 days then start again to complete the walk. Here goes the question :-) From which town would we need to take the transport and...
Hi Bakebeans,
My wife can teach Spanish, we are both Spanish speakers, but she has taught other people that wanted to learn Conversational Spanish. Let me know if you are keen. We are also planning a trip to Spain to do the Camino Frances in September :-)
Saludos
Fernando y Liza
Thanks a lot for all this great advice.
At this stage, I need to arrange the travel from Brisbane/AU to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. I will search here, but I need advice on what would be the best route. From Brisbane to Spain( Madrid or Barcelona) or France (Paris)? Then how to get to SJPdP...
Hi Guys, My wife and I are planning our first Camino in September. I have some backpacks and other things that are making this trip more real :-). I hope I can draw some wisdom from Camino experts. I look forward to meeting and chatting with as many people as possible and hope to see some...
