In case someone finds this in the future...Because the tour sold out the cathedral added an additional tour that same day at 1:30. This was not visible on their website or an option on the phone. I learned about it by going to the museum gift shop. They sold me one ticket for the new tour at...
I decided not to bring one and me, my family and friends have been very happy with my photos so far.
If you do bring one make sure it’s not precious. It may be something you choose to get rid of along the way due to weight.
I’ve not seen them on the menu anywhere. I’m on the Portuguese Central route now, in Caldas de Reis, Spain.
Edit: I started in Aborim/Tamel, north of Porto
I’ve not found that to be true. No working options from Vitorino dos Piães to Ponte de Lima. There were 2 laundromats in Ponte de Lima and then nothing working until Valença.

I’m going to take the train to Tamel then get a car to Vitorino dos Piães. Then walk from Vitorino dos Piães to Ponte Vedra for the night. Then walk on from there. Unfortunately I don’t have time to spend a night at Fernanda’s.
Thank you very much for this detailed response, I'll do it! I do fly into Porto. The plan is to spend one night there, then the next night in Ponte de Lima. Vitorino de Piães seems like a good place to start the walk to Ponte de Lima, I want to have an easy-ish first day. I wish there was time...
Hello!
I'm starting my first Camino next week. Ideally from Vitorino dos Piães. Does anyone have transportation tips to get there? Bus, train or taxi? I won't have a rental car. Thanks!
