I stayed in one place at Hospitales earlier this year which was brand new and another quite early on which was new too, clearly the route is gaining traction!
I mostly just mean I saw extra stuff along the way! But I found my accommodation with a mix of booking.com and phoning the places from the book, who (if they were full or closed) passed me on to other numbers.
You can see where I stayed on the thread I posed with the daily updates here...
For anyone finding this post later, you can see my mini trip report and ask questions here:

Me and my partner will do the next stage in spring, Vic to Montserrat.
Day 4: Cantonigros > Vic (23km)
The final day was generally pretty relaxed and mostly downhill, still following the Cami Ral. Certainly the hardest day to navigate though still generally well signposted, we did have to check the GPS a few times on this one!
Accomodation: We did not need...
Day 3: Les Preses > Cantonigros (23k)
We thought today was going to be easy as it was so short, but actually it was by far the hardest day! Very rewarding though.
Accomodation: Hostal Cabrerès (80 euros)
This is the first day that we left the Via Verda and instead joined another well...
Day 2: Amer > Les Preses (27k)
Today we had to go beyond the standard stage (Sant Esteve d'en Bas) because they Albergue was full when we tried to book. We ended up 3km towards Olot in Les Preses where we stayed at another restaurant/BnB.
Accomodation: Vertisol (70 euros)
It was another day...
Day 1: Girona > Amer (23k)
Accomodation: Fonda Giralt Restaurant (50 euros)
Comfortable accommodation with nice people running the place. We also had dinner here and it was very nice indeed!
The night before, we had stayed in a BNB in "Salt" which is a neighbourhood in Girona which is further...
Hi all!
I am not sure I have a great deal to share as I don't write as I walk but here I will share what I remember of the 4 day trip I just finished, walking from Girona to Vic.
Overall I mostly stuck to the stages from the book I bought...
I just completed 4 days from Girona to Vic thanks to this thread and the book from @Josep Montserrat.
You may be interested to know @peregrina2000 that the route has changed since you did it (we used you GPS as a guide here and there when a little confused).
And @Josep Montserrat - the book...
Hi all! In the end I am walking Girona to Vic (from this Thursday!), does anyone know if I can get a credential in Girona? I thought it could be a good souvenir for my partner as it is her first time walking any part of camino.
We don't actually mind not meeting anyone, really we are in it for the walk more than anything, so the more beautiful the better. I will redo the start of the Primitivo woth my partner to show her that side of things next year.
Thanks for your input!
I am fortunate enough to have lived in...
I have seen the thread but I must admit I had not idea how one was meant to utilise it, it seems so... random? I gleaned some great info but maybe just did not understand the structure.
@peregrina2000 with your experience, if you had to choose between walking these three outes, which would you take?
Girona > Vic
Vic>Monserrat
Monserrat > Lleida (or any other place that has a train station!)
Very interested to know, thanks :)
