Yes, it made a difference. I am more patient, and it opened my heart. I think of the Camino often, about the people I met and how people of all races and nationalities can get along if they truly try.
It can be done. I did in in 31 days, which included one day of rest in Leon while I waited for my daughter to arrive so we could walk the rest of the way together. I started August 25, 2023, and walked into Santiago September 25, 2023.
Yes, I did. It was one of my goals. Mine is framed and placed in a prominent location in my home. I will also display it during a presentation about my Camino to our Photography Club in April. I have so many photos to share.
I started in St. Jean Pied-de-Port on August 25th. My daughter joined me in Leon to walk the rest of the way to Santiago with me. After the second day she developed a problem with the arch in her right foot. We also found out she had a negative reaction to mosquito bites and develop a swelling...

The train schedule from the airport will get me to Pamplona train station at 1:46 pm. It is a 12K taxi ride from the train station to the airport. If all goes well, I should be there by 2:30. If I can get a phone number from you, I can text you my progress once I get on the train.

Do you have to have your phone on all the time to create your journey in Find Penguins, or can you turn it off to save battery and turn it back on to take photos or send a footprint?
This is a great suggestion. I was going to use Signal, but this appears to be so much better. My daughter and I are starting our trip the third week of August.
I will be walking the Camino Frances in September. I had a concern with my snoring. I tried nasal strips with little luck. Last week I started using the ZQuiet mouthpiece. My wife confirms that it works beautifully. It's a mouthpiece that you put in your mouth while sleeping and it adjust your...
Thanks everyone, you have given me much to think about. You have offered several suggestions that I will consider. Full rubber gaiters and waterproof socks are good options. My waterproof shoes are heavy. Thanks for your comments everyone.
Good advice. Thank you. Depending on the weather (rain or shine) I may alternate my waterproof boots on rainy days and my New Balance on sunny days. Does that make sense?
Thanks for your reply. I will try them on my longer walks as I will be starting the daily, longer walks soon. Trying them on the Arizona heat will be a good test.
I hike in Southern Arizona where it is usually hot or very warm. My old shoes came apart and I needed a pair almost immediately. The only ones available in my size at the time were Keen Dry Waterproof Shoes. I like the shoes, but they appear to be a little warm, causing sweaty feet. I haven't...
