I read your original comment and thought it was right in the money. Pack what you think you will need and see if you are comfortable carrying.
What you need on the way may change according to your insight, experience, the weather etc, but you can shift as you go.
Focus better to be need and...
For anyone looking through old threads, I am on the Camino now (started the Aragonese Way at Oloron on 13th Oct).
I have absolutely needed winter stuff… I have needed down jacket as well as a fleece, decent sleeping bag, winter socks (three pairs are useful), gloves and fleece buffs / snoods...
Buen Camino a tu también!
I tell a lie… I did meet two people in the hostal in Santa Cruz who had been walking from Barcelona but they were taking a very different route from me. I have loved every minute and sorry to have missed you!!
Hiya - can’t remember who but someone asked for my movements so far so thought I would try and share best I could… let me know if there are other things that would be useful to know… it is still fresh ish in the mind!
Worth mentioning I am travelling alone and almost every night have been the...
It is a shame indeed. I have met a grand total of zero pilgrims in 10 days! Every night had the place to myself, and often the keys. I did meet some Spanish folk yesterday who were walking a day at the weekend over the course of the year, but that is it!!! What a few days it has been though...
Interesting. I would be curious to hear more about your route and where you started and finished each day… I would have loved to have done the north side of the Yesa so I could have had a dip!
I started in Oloron 8 days ago and whilst have been the only person in the auberge each night, have managed to find places open (Gronze and booking.com). I will write out where I stayed and what I did to book or not book! But so glad I did the climb before the descent… and really wonderful to...
LOST AND FOUND: picked these glasses up just before arriving in ruesta yesterday. They didn’t look like they had been there long - could they be anyone’s and where else might I post this to have the best chance of reuniting the owner?!
I managed the route to the monastery yesterday and stayed in Santa Cruz de la seros. I think someone was asking about how possible the path is there… I followed the one on all trials and it was completely fine and did not disappoint. Not sure I would want to do it in the pouring rain though! I...
I started walking from Oloron 5 days ago and arrived in Jaca today. I am so surprised how few pilgrims there are on this route and have had some pretty funny experiences so far… I would love to contribute if I can be helpful and this is inspiring me to write some of it down!!!
Hiya - conscious this thread has gone cold, but I am planning to do this route shortly (starting this week) and was after some advice.
(Moderator note: this post was moved from a LIVE thread to create a new thread)
Should I take a tent and basic cooking equipment? I have a very lightweight set...
Hi all… considering doing the Asturias (joining French way) or Camino del Norte.
I am planning to leave in the next week or so (early Oct), and keen to take my time with no limits for when I need to finish.
My pack without camping stuff is at about 7kg and the tent (super light trekking...
