Re: Just returned from the Camino....Advice to others 60+ years
OOOPPPS! As an afterthought, we (the 77 and 78 year olds who finished El Camino June 29) maintained a blog on our pilgrimage. Many may find it helpful in planning their trip. It is at:

Re: Just returned from the Camino....Advice to others 60+ years
My wife (age 77) and I (age 78) left SJPP on May 3 and finished at Santiago June 29. We walked every step of the Way carrying our own back packs. If we have any advice to give to anyone, regardless of age, it is to carry only that...
Pablo: We leave SJPP May 3. We too will be slow--hope to average 100km/wk--but maybe we'll cath up if you drink enough beer. John and Dot from Indiana (oldest couple on El Camino???)
EXCITED AND READY!!! We arrive in Pamplona 1 May, bus or taxi to SJPP, stay two nights at Gite Ultreia on Rue de la Citadelle and begin El Camino Friday 3 May. At soon-to-be 78 and 77 years of age we will be slower than most. Say Hola as you pass us by. Our blog is at http://www.villamilan.com...
I expect we might be the oldest couple on El Camino this season. We will celebrate our 78th and 77th birthdays along the Way--total 155 years. We'll leave SJPP May 3 and will try to describe conditions along Camino Frances. See if we make it: http://www.villamilan.com John and Dot from Indiana.
We will begin our pilgrimage from SJPP May 3. Along the way we will celebrate our 78th and 77th birthdays. Are we the oldest couple of the season? Will we make it all the way? Check our blog http://www.villamilan.com
We (John and Dot from Indiana)will land in Pamlona May 1. Since that is a holiday the bus to Roncevalles is not running and taxis charge more so we don not know if we will stay over in Pamplona or find someone to share a taxi. In any event we will start our trek in those first days of May. We...
Express Bourricot told by by E-mail March 13 that they no longer provide transport service from Pomplona to SJPP. Does anyone know how else to make the trip? Other provider? Shared taxi?

We're a bit older. We arrive in Pamplona on May 1 and will enter El Camino at SJPP shortly after that. While we are on the Way I'll celebrate my 78th birthday and my wife her 77th. Bien Camino.

We're Hoosiers (folks from Indiana USA). We are in our mid-70's and are scheduled to arrive in Pamplona May 1, travel to SJPP and begin our pilgimage within a day or two of then. Although we have traveled quite a bit this will be our first attempt at long distance hiking. We only plan to walk 10...
