i'm taking the 7:30am train from madrid to pamplona, arrival 10:40am.
anyone want to split the taxi fare with me from pamplona to st jean pied de port?
My wife and I will start out from Pamplona on Aug 29 to Santiago; from there we'll proceed to Fisterra but by bus instead of walking. Hope to meet you on the road.

Booked a RT ticket for SFO-MAD-SFO on Priceline for $892. I discovered that its cheaper if you're departing on a Sunday. We do have 2 stop-overs on the way there, but if I figure 3 hrs extra traveling time is worth saving $400!
25-35's a pretty ambitious pace. I would suggest getting a copy of Brierly's guide - it shows distance and altitude of the different stages, so you could plan ahead (ie early stop at albergue to rest up before heading up a mountain).
Good luck n stay safe.

My wife and I will begin our walk in Pamplona this August 30, 2012, after taking a train from Madrid. I've done tons of reading and research but I still have uncertainties about where to stay, which path to take, etc. but I guess I'll just have to trust in Santiago to guide us.
